Looks like your standard Hyper style fin. Like the Waterway Glide, Triton and Leaderfins hyper pro.

yes it is more or less the same. could also be, that the blades are made by waterway.

looks like a pretty different lamination style in that last photo and the footpocket reinforcement panel on the top is interesting. anybody have any contact details for that fin.

DD

You'll need to join yahoogroups but I found an email link here

Yahoo! Groups

It does have some interesting design details - but looks like a variation of the hyperfin theme - perhaps with quite a bit of blade angle. I've seen that lamination style on a number of blades - from specialfins, leaderfins and Triton. I haven't really gotten detailed with it but it seems like the blade starts well down the foot. The shaping of the trailing edge is a little different than some as well. Quality of finish and shaping looks very nice and I like the way they have wrapped the foot strap - this is one of the weak areas on monofins.

Hard to find any information about Rocket monofin from the web, but I found this from a interview of a finswimming champion:

"What kind of fins or monofins do you use? (Brand)
Now rocket, and immersion, and I’m very grateful the masters, who made it: Viktor Panev, Igor Soroka, Alex Lichenko"
(What is that Immersion fin, and have the men made the Rocket or Immersion or both...?)

In finswimmers' poll 2009 Rocket is No 1 monofin (in poll results there is something interesting about trainings, too):

Quite a lot of Others = the Russian Hyperfin mainly?
It may be that Glidefin=Waterway Glide? If so, WW 23%.

Here (scroll down on linked page) are interesting pics of 11 different - mainly hyper type - monofin brand for finswimmwers...but not Rocket?!
http://all-finswimming.over-blog.com/categorie-1230914.html
Edit: reason is that pics are from year 2007. But there are some interesting rare monofin brands...

BTW there seems to be 'Rocket' stereofin from another manufacture and it has (probably) nothing to do with Rocket monofin.

Viktor Panev, Igor Soroka, Alex Lichenko
I found that they are top class finswimmers from Ukraine. But i didn't found more info about Rocket monofin or their possible role with it.

I have tryed one rocketfin in Italy in the apnea academy conference 2007.
Several of the competitors, italian, in finswimming :) ,were using them.

I think, that the contact was the national trainer?

Viktor Panev, Igor Soroka are top ukrainian finswimmers and they are really make these fins by themselves.

As i remember at last finswimming world championship rocketfins are the most popular fins between athletes from all countries exept China and Russia. But only 2 or 3 current world records in finswimming was set using rocketfins...

In that Yahoo!group there is said:
"I haven't the personal e-mail but you can write to rocketfin@...
that is the e-mail of Victor Panev and Igor Soroka for the selling of monofins."

So it has investigated that finswimmers Victor Panev and Igor Soroka make and sell Rocket Monofins in Ukraine. I haven't managed to get that whole email adress altough I joined that Yahoo!Group.

YES salibandy your thinking is correct, heard about them from a friend and they look very nice always like trying new fins. i'm surprised that nbody had brought them p on here before seeingas they seem to be the flavour of choice for high end finswimming...

yep the extent of my knowledge after a bit of scratching around is about the same, made by those 3 guys who are all high end fin swimmers them selves, kinda like the guys from trident who are also current or ex world champian or european champs.

very nice looking fin now just gotta get the email adress to contact him.

Bjorn

Let me know if you're getting one, I might be in the market for another fin (or fins) as well.

I found this from a interview of a finswimming champion: "What kind of fins or monofins do you use? (Brand)

Just a guess, but logically it might be this way:
Have they done a different monofin (Immersion) for finswimming immersion and 50 m apnea disciplines? And Rocket is mainly for surface finswimming? I have heard that finswimmers may want a different monofin for immersion and apnea, so that the blade bends more and from larger area.

If it is so, the next question is: Is Rocket or Immersion better for freediving?
DD, when you contact Viktor, Igor and Alex, it might be worth asking this potential Immersion/Rocket issue, too.
----------
Here you can see how really much and from large area monofins bend in finswimming immersion discipline:

I don't know what monofins these are, this is just an example. In finswimming immersion is done with an airbottle, but their apnea (50 m adults, 25 m juniors) is done without extra air. So finswimming apnea is something like very fast freediving with extremely strong kicks.

A good HQ video, World Game's apnea 50 m 2009. In lane 5 is Igor Soroka. Ofcourse ;) he is the winner with his own monofin:

Unkraine (Igor Soroka etc.) won this World Games 4x100 m with Rockets, Respect!:
