Rocket monofin?

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
DD - With respect (and no rancor!!) - I must disagree with your statements to Alex. First - his English probably makes it difficult to follow the flow of the thread - second - I am sure this thread was brought to his attention because of the criticism of his product. That seems a perfectly legitimate reason for him to chime in and defend it - which he has done in what I think is a very reasonable way. He did not just jump in out of nowhere - his fins were criticized. And he has not criticized Rocketfins product.

Second - my understanding of the way fin manufacturers work over there is that they all talk and share information. The trimmed corners and rounded, tapered wings on both these fins are seen on other fins and I'm sure you've noticed the similarities in foot pocket cuts on the various hyperfins. (Without some kind of label most of them can not be told apart!) So it seems reasonable that if someone comes up with a cool way to secure the straps it would get passed around.

It seems clear that the rocketfins are excellent in terms of both performance and build quality - but we all know how negative word-of-mouth can spread and it is not fair to judge starfins based on the word of their primary competitor.

Just my 2 cents

Thank you for understanding Fondueset,
to everything it is desirable to add that at the beginning of the finswimmer career he used hyper, which was constructed by me and by Yakovlev`s brothers and he used him 2-3y.
I think that one man can criticize somebody's hyper only - that who thought of them - Jevgeniy Andronov ! all other are copy ;-)

Anyway, it's better that nowadays there are many monofin manufactors, not Andronov only. So freedivers and finswimmers can get easier what they want, and more new things are tested.
And better monofins and better service means that more people are interested to buy a monofin.

We do not take over income (superfluous) money for a brand and for that in our fins was done new records ! were executed Also we tell the clients about discounts at an order a few the fins if they will be deported in one parcel in one time ! Or about some gifts ! + there always are interesting suggestions for the representatives of our brand in other countries !

It would be nice with a video of the rocketfin in action sometime

How's the footpockets growing on you divingdave?

Eric any news yet? ^^

ahhhh my footpockets fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! heaven on my feet, i spend 40minutes sitting on the couch with them on last night! with no major pain anywhere. next step is the pool tomorrow night for a crash test run before shooting over to Dahab on the weekend for 10 days of diving so that should give the fin a work out. mind you i have no doubt after watching Benny rocket up from mid 50m dives with the fin a couple of weeks ago.

i'll post video when i get soem technique! hahahahahah nonono i'll try and take some tomorrow night and some in egypt and post it up.

My rocketfin will not be ready until late May at the earliest. So I will not be posting updates until June.

Ok guys can't wait anymore! :head
Need some professional advice from you guys who have or will have an rocketfin on how to order from rocketfins because i've never order something like a monofin before...

It would be really helpful if you could write down all the specifications you gave to the guys from rocketfin. And what is it you can effect on the fin? example: angle of blade, footpocket size, footpocket shape, stiffness, size of blade and so on.

And how do you meassure the angle of your foot? with sticks and geometry, sinus cosinus cosh ? I'm lost here on what's the best way.

Maybe you can copy and paste the talk you hade with rocketfin or is it a hush hush

I'm like a baby I know but I don't want the guys in the club say: told you so, you should bought an glide :blackeye

Appreciate the patience!

simple email Viktor through their website saying you want a fin.

he will email bacfk with what specifications he needs and then you parts with your money and you gets your fin!
ME
Model: ??? Rocketmonofin freediving yellow blade
Foot size:??? (now) 320mm
Blade stiffness:??? Medium/Soft
angle:??? 25 degrees
foot pocket colour: ??? Red

then of course give your address and contact details you want the fin sent to (NOT a PO BOX) must be a physical address.

Polish Power,

If you're buying your first 'Andronov' style fin, and you don't know what you want and need, I suggest you visit some freedivers and test their equipment. Use your own training fin more and learn to know what you need. After you've done all this, and have a reasonable clear idea of what you want, than you can start thinking about ordering a fin.
By that time maybe someone else already bought a new one and you can have his 'old' one, that could safe you loads of cash too.

If you already know what you want, blade stiffness, angle, buoyancy, footpocket, than you would look for a company who can and will give you that fin. - Otherwise your chances of getting a fin that you like is VERY SLIM.
Footpocket sizing.
In my experience with "Hyperfins" is that they had my exact foot measurements, measured by their representative (at 3 places), and still succeeded in NOT delivering a footpocket that fitted well. TWICE. I wonder why so many companies cannot make footpockets that fit exact foot sizes? - I think it must really costs a lot of customers, mailing costs and time.
Not good for both the customer and the supplier.

That's why I'll advise to go for a company that succeeds in delivering not only a good build and design but also predictable, consistent, and well sized footpockets.

To everyone,
Please do not engage in fallacious (non-logical) arguments.
Fallacies

And please don't jump to conclusions about people's intentions, understanding that in an international forum most people are writing in a foreign language, and are not being able to understand and express themselves with precision.

Agreed kars.... On all points

mite tongue in cheek from me sorry, figured there were spelling mistakes. Not accusing alex of anything negative.

But Kara you are 100% correct if your not 100% on what you are after don't buy yet wait until you know what you need and in the mean time spend as much time as you can trying peoples fins in the water to work out what suits you the best.

I want a constrictor forum to so I'll just have to learn to keep my trap shut

Alex do you want to promote your fins or do you just want to lodge irrelevant speeches on the rocketfin thread? Why don't you start a starfin thread and maybe a webpage?

Eric how about you, was it the only things divingdane metioned in his last post that you said to the manufacturers or did you have som more inputs on your made fin?

Dane are you an undercover agent? And wheres the videoclips

How about the cut edges on the fin? Is it mainly for finswimming to help you swim straighter?

I'm with Kars - lets not get edgy. I have even also some friend who is from Russia! Very it is sometimes not also, and. Difficult!

Polishpower - Kars advice is good and hard-won I'm sure. I used a Waterway Nemo (which I still think is a quite good recreational fin) for a couple of years before I got to hyperfins. Getting one that fits is really very chancy- though my current fav has molded footpockets which are perfectly consistent - Blade angle is not so much as the fins we are talking about however.
