To Sven, Erik, George, Vincent, Annika, and Cliff (and others);
Respects to the younger contributors for letting their voices be heard – there lies our future.
Intriguing to see such a vociferous response when ‘challenged’ by unsubstantiated labelling that goes against our own self-image!
Just as many have taken some degree of offense (and rightly so!) to my virulent posting header, please be aware that the ‘painting with a broad brush’ of anyone who didn’t take offense to the FDUK image as mysoginistic (sp?) supporters of the purveyance of porn will also be taken personally. (Wow, that's a really poorly constructed sentence!)
To the contributors who spoke only of their personal view of the FDUK image – kudos.
To those who cast aspersions on the creators, distributors or favourable observers of the image – let they without sin cast the first stone (sorry 'bout the misquote but you know what I mean . . .)
To the 'spineless wonder' who left the recent "see ya' wanker" message on my 'DeeperBlue karma' notices - remember that Karma means 'the principle of retributive justice determining a person's state of life and their state of reincarnation as the effect of past deeds.'
Apparently, the FDUK/DeeperBlue conflict runs deeper than this current 'debate.' I'll leave that to Stephan, Cliff and Howard to sort out – I am not cognisant of all the gory details.
Suffice to say that Howard has done a lot for Freediving in the UK and Europe and that he has been very generous (not financially, but that's not the point!) to me personally over the past few years. As such, when the chips are down, loyalty will lead me to support Howard in these conflicts – whether I agree with the presentation of the controversial image or not (at worst a small blot against a long-standing, very strong record in the support of freediving.)
I trust that all will respect my decision to stand by Howard in this instance.

she finally got rid of the lices so she took her hand out of her undies. If she could only smile now, i'd be very happy with the picture. I could solve that problem if i could get up close and personnal with her.... (frenchmen thing...).

To all the staff at DB. I strongly think you should have 2 different login so we would know when you speak in your own name and when you speak in DB name.

Pete - to back up Cliff response, I will make sure we honour your request first thing on Monday morning (I don't have full access from here). I'm sad to see you leave, you contributed tremendously to the site and I hope we can look to come to some sort of arrangement in the future where we see you contribute once again.
On a broader note, I think it is about time we left this thread and started chatting about other things. I've been keeping a close eye on it and have had to delete some posts to keep this thread from degenerating into a complete mud-slinging event...
I also want to make clear that there is no "hidden" war going on between Howard and myself/cliff/DB. I have always respected Howard for what he has done for the Freediving world and I have always been polite and professional with him. He asked me (in private) to not use his guestbook any more as we have opened now our shop. I responded saying I would honour his request. I had hoped, and suggested on many occasions, that we could work together, however that never really seemed to work out.

Howard Jones is a friend of mine, who taught me to freedive and spearfish......
I am a tad angry about this to say the least, and could verbally tear it to pieces for hours right now.......but thats not worth my time or effort.......

Regardless of what is written above, we all have rights to do and say what we want and will be tolerated, appreciated, or ignored...unless we are harmful to others. And even then we may want to live-larger-than-our-individual-selves and consider forgiving those who are harmful, but show they are willing to stop their harmful behavior.
And yes, I dislike conflicts. I am a wimp and will state it up front, and am learning the value of conflict as an opportunity for learning new lessons not available elsewhere.

I am glad to see Eric voicing disdain over sleaze-- whether it needed to be taken to the nth degree i don't know. Though I will carefully point out that even world class female athlete freedivers "glamourize their femininity" for the sake of making an impression [on the male population?]or selling their sponsors' products , even though, I would think, they don't have to.

wow can't believe this thread is still alive and kicking.. it was a joke you fools!!! maybe it's a British thing that just didn't work world-wide...
I guess it's just as well not too many of you saw the photos that we had taken of the British women's team in Hawaii, naked but for Monofins.... it wasn't demeaning at all, in fact it was a great laugh! they were supposed to appear in FHM but in the end they used Megan H-G instead.....grrr.......
