In My book thats about sums it up, sounds like a great time.
I hope you all have great time preping for the comp, I heard some about a new NR for the Finnish ladys, is that true ??? :friday

Any way good luck to All of you down there, but I cheer a bit extra for those SISU finnish divers.

have a great time

No NR yet, but Susanna has far passed the old one in training.

I'm having a hard conflict with my self should I go for the mens NR or not. If only there were a few more days...:) If I do, it will be clearly a risk and it goes against my usual dive philosophy. Then again, it is very very tempting to have it in reach.

Today the wind was very strong, but no current, at least in the morning. Many divers stayed out of the water, but we figured you might as well, since you cannot guarantee that the competition day is any better.

It paid off. The sea looked rough, but once you're out there, it wasn't that bad. But all of us (except Timo who was having his first completely healty day and is gaining up fast) had pb's and that sure builds up confidence. Knowing that we've done pb's now both in very bad current (yesterday) and also in very bad wind.

So unless they got tornados brewing up, we should be ok :)

BennyB, Sam et al,

WIIIINDY today! some athletes have got in but most seem to be waiting until the wind drops and especially the current disappears. Arsenal pulled out a great comeback yesterday with 1-1 away to Liverpool which really topped off a good day. The beer was nice and cold and as it was my first in a long time I giggled like a little bitch.
Liv had a good dose of red wine medicine and seems remarkably fine today, so the UK training is on course.
Off to louunge about some more...
Ciao!

No matter what you do, give it your best and bring home heaps of good "White card dives". But I'm sure that you know that you have the best Possibilities to set new standards to your freediving. As you said, better dive sights are hard to find, especally in Finland. Everything is a gamble at a comp, but how much are one willing to put at stake in a WC ???

I belive in you and the rest of the Finnish divers, so have great dives and enjoy the moment.

The documentary about orcas was great as every thing in Sharm. Today we woke up in beautiful morning but very soon it became very windy and lots of athletes are canceling their morning training. I will also wait few hours and try to do new pb.

We all wait for opening ceremony and first announcements for female CW. It will bi interesting to see what will be the deepest announcement. We will let you know as soon as the results are announced.

Is it a secret?
What?
Your depth?
What depth? You do not know what depth I have been down to?

So did Mullins go to 115, or did he just put the line there and turned early deliberatly?

Hya all,
unfortunatelly over the last couple of days the weather has turned really nasty.

At te moment (11:30) is is probably a strength 6 on the beufort scale hitting the dive site head on :( ...

So we are talking big waves and there is also a tide causing current...

By the looks of the last few days this is highly likely to be what the conditions will be like during the competition - It will probably come down to who announces smart according to what they can do in these conditions...

I am going back to bed now ... this wind is driving me mad :(

Stavros :(

rofl rofl rofl - thanks, Sebastian! :D
You don't think You could put some more time into covering the competition here? Adds some spice, IMO :D

Good luck and good diving for You and my friends down there, if You would be so kind as to convey my greetings.

Hey guys!

I arrived yesterday and jumped in the water today for a training session. What everyone has said about the set up here is absolutely true - the Apnea Academy guys here have done an awesome job in setting up an extremely professional training environment. And having safety always in the water is fabulous. No complaints at all, although it's a bit wavy but really that just adds to the fun! :)

The hotel is great, wireless internet, good food and plenty of it, and it's so much fun to see all these freediving legends here! Very humbling!

The weather is great too - unseasonably warm which makes the training fun. I have to admit that after Triple Depth the prospect of another big comp is a big daunting but we still have a few days to go, so hopefully everything will fall into place by Wednesday!

Anyway, time for bed, dive on!

As you see some athletes might feel they announced too much, or too little.
Diving starts 9.00 wednesday

Hi,

You can find the announced performances for women in here
http://jome.homelinux.net/results/index.php?op=divers&event_id=186

I apologize, the site is still a bit rough (under development), but you get the general idea at least. I'm hoping I can get someone from the organization to update results in semi-realtime. Unfortunately I don't have the time (coaching an athlete)

Or if anyone else hanging around here has some spare time, I can show you how to do it in 10 minutes...

Please bare in mind that the site is far from finished, but feed back of course is always welcome...

Great stuff... page is excellent for non finished site!

Announcements are expected... Natalia going strong, hope she's not go to far with that -95m... well I'm sure sure she's not :) Why the first couple of girls have no announcement?

Cant wait mens announcements tomorrow... that will be crazy.

Best wishes for SARA ...

Dahab is proud about their Dahab Mermaid :inlove

Just heard that the womens competition has been postponed due to bad weather. It was supposed to start at 9:00, but it will be 13:15 (this is second hand information so anyone planning your dives please check the official info and don't take my word for it!).

Personally I think the discussion about the weather is a bit overheated. It's an outdoor sport and it goes with the territory that you cannot guarantee 100% even conditions for everybody. We've been out there on the best and worst days and it really is not that bad if there is a bit of waves or current - you just need to train for it. What I'm seeing right now out side is honestly not that bad. Just my opinnion...I just hope they dont use up all the margins too easily - there's not guarantee the weather will get any better either. Then again, I don't really mind waiting either...:)

What, is it windy Jome? It was REALLY windy in the Gulf yesterday, perhaps it has blown your way. Thanks for the update :)
