4-6 meters vis in Brixham late afternoon today, only saw one mullet but first silver seen of the season and a welcome sight. Just too small to bother with.
Came away with brown crab and a scallop. Yes, that's right, just one lonely scallop.
Back in the water first thing in the morning.

Hi Guys,

New to the forum... been spearing for a year now...
Based near Mothecombe... moving to Torbay soon.

Mothecombe visibility was about 10-15 feet two days ago, lots of spider crabs and some polack around.
Heading to Rame head or Wembury tonight for a gander.

Where about in brixham is it best to get in the water? Do you fancy being a tour guide at some point? :)

Can't say I know where's best to get in in Brixham as have only dived it a few times over the years and mainly gone for shellfish. Happy to point you in the right direction although forum etiquette says not to be posted in public PM me if you'd like to meet up or discuss. I actually live nearer to where you are at the moment and only really dive in Torbay as I work there. Given choice South Hams would win every time for me!!

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. Swam with a Brixham seal too, no wonder the fish had buggered off. Still, awesome experience. Came up close and nibbled my fins which is quite common behaviour.

A lot of you guys always mention South Hams, where does this area actually run from and to?

Half of Team CRAP decided to take a trip to one of our favourite local marks. Viz was 4-5m, a bit milky, but still quite bright. We started looking for bugs, but all the holes were empty. Then with the change of the tide the bass came in. All were no deeper than five meters. One was shot from the surface, the rest on asspetto. They weighed between 2lb to 4lb. Rowan pulled out a pretty decent lobster in the dying minutes just to annoy me.

The coastline between (but not including) Brixham and Plymouth. Plenty to explore:-D

Okay thanks. So Bovisand eastwards then?

Can anyone PM me a few spots to try if possible? I've posted bits on here before and speared all of last year and been in twice this year and I've only ever had 1 bass and 2 cuttle fish (and 2 spider crabs). My shot isn't that bad, just the fish aren't there. I try the aspetto technique, as mentioned above, frequently with breath holds of around 30-40 seconds, not sure if that's enough?

I'm located in Plymouth and spots I go to are usually Rame and Heybrook with little luck.

Hi , I went in yesterday (S hams ) and it was very windy, with superb vis 8-10 metres lots of life around , small fish, sand eels etc , and scores of barrel jelly fish which were pleasant to look at close up in such clear water with them all around me in sight at various depths , explored a few wreck sites , very few spider crabs around now, even less fish ...Terry..

Seabass is back I got them and I saw a little babies bass looking quite funny. water start to be warmer which is really good.
