Ugh, gross pictures!:yack If that's the cure, the illness must have been awfulrofl

(I bet folk that move to live closer to the sea don't factor in surfer's ear as a health risk ;). )

Best wishes for a quick & full recovery ;)

Christ Jez,thats just what my ear specialist is trying to avoid me from having,i've had the option to to have it done cause it's pretty chronic in both ears but i'm trying to stay on top of it,it's harsh eh,all those years of surfing came at a price...surfers ear plus i got a type of skin cancer that normally old people get....i tell ya,it's the full diving suit for all summer and surf only when it's primo....lifes hideously unfair.
i hope you get better real soon and i'd like to know how it went cause i dont think i'm far from it.

All the best Daf.

Hi from Somerset
Just A quick intro I've been involved in diving for over 20 years with a few breaks in between. Started snorkeling as a kid and worked my way up to twin 12's and side mounts with a bit of free diving about 8 years ago. Have now sold all my tec diving kit (just toooo expensive and time consuming) and have bought myself an Omer Master pro suit and Gabbiano 77.

So today I went down to Odicombe for my first free dive in years, and boy do I need to do some training, the best I could do was 6mtr and 60 seconds compared to 17mtr and 120+ seconds I use to be able to perform but that was without a speargun.

Viz today was 2mtr max, that was along the rocks from Obicombe around to Babbacombe but did not see anything worth shooting but nice to be back in the water again. Managed 2 hours and only my feet got cold and they were frozen beyond belief.

On the way back from Babbacombe I thought I would slacken my weight belt off but the buckle promptly fell off loosing four of my leads. Luckily I dropped my gun to mark the spot and managed to get back down and retrieve them all, very lucky.

Look forward to hearing from some of you locals, my main hunting ground will be from Portland down to Plymouth.

Allan

Did you find the secret buss rock.:)
I could not be any more of a local in that area i live just on the top of oddicombe hill.

Im thinking about having a quick dip along oddicombe on Saturday or Sunday as the wind has stopped and the swell.:)

Hi Spiderman
I live in Taunton and am happy to lift share, I mainly go week days and early in the mornings, also surf up on the north devon coast but will be looking around with the speargun when there's no swell.

Allan

I'm in Taunton too and by necessity nearly always go on Mondays.
I'm not expecting to get back in the water until the spring as I am too busy right now and have insufficient blubber for January/February/March conditions.

I dived babbacombe beach today seeing as it was such nice weather. I did not bring the speargun because i could not be bothered and because i was sure i would not be in for more than a hour. Well the water was cold but not freezing well my lips did not agree at first,i lasted just over an hour and a half. Saw only one wrasse which was good to see and a few bait fish still swimming around. The viz was 2/3 meters but there was lots of silk in the water well that is what the scuba divers said:confused: . The most fun was seeing the look on divers faces at 10 meters when you swim right at then out of the terrible viz rofl . Going to do a few more dives before christmas if the weather holds.:)

Just imagine what their faces would have been like if you had your gun with you!

Oooh, that's better. Just had the packing pulled out of my ear 2 weeks after having it drilled. The world seems like a 3 dimensional place again. The keys on my keyboard sound so loud! No water sports for 3 months though.

Just as well I bought a new bike to keep me amused for three months, should help the legs for the spring too!

Merry Christmas all:) :friday

I dont think they would of been so happy if i had my gun pointed at their face.rofl . It was fun swimming with the scuba guys and they said it was quite funny seeing someone swim past them out off no were.:)

I hope this weather holds so i can get a few more dives in.

I miss the summer.:rcard
