South Devon report 2007

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.

Neoprene will give about 4-7% stretch when wet. To some degree it tends to develop a little memory depending on how much you use it. For me noticibly around the leg ends and arm ends where the boots and gloves are tucked under.

Good day
Excuse me for interrupting the thread.
Can I please ask you to visit the BSA forum , British Spearfishing Association :: Index , and have your say on some potential proposals on size limits , number restrictions etc that may or may go through to the BSA AGM.
Some of you may not be BSA members or competitors but, like it or not, what happens within the BSA will have an affect on UK spearos.
Have your say !
Regards Paul

I Have a few good holes that i move to during the day and they often have mullet and bass in them. My favourite spot is a 10 meter long tunnel that the mullet swim though in shoals.

Hi all

Went in today and should never have bothered but the flat sea was too irresistable. jumped in and i thought i was swimming in the cup of tea i'd drunk before leaving home, sea was a milky brown and it only opened up to about a metre at best as far out as it was safe to be. Mini pollack spotted and a scabby looking wrasse but nothing else.

Tribs

out.

Dived today. viz was 3/4 meters not too bad.
Not many fish about took 1 bass and a big mullet. saw one more bass in 4 hours but was tiny along with a big conger which i did think about shooting but couldn't be bothered with it.
I heard there are 11 trawlers working Torbay, could be the reason for so little fish or im getting worse.

Post a pic later.

hey spearheads well done with the bass and mullet. so its not just me. i have dived a few times this last week and have seen very minimal fish. i dived today and only saw 1 mullet, but i did manage to get 2 flounders, so not all bad.
i have noticed though that people rod fishing have been getting a few big bass of late, but i have seen none. not sure why this is though. might have to get my fishing rods out.
has anybody else notices this.

HI you two i have been to hopes nose today vis 2mtrs lots of big mullet had two and a small congor.Did see a shoal of bass all about 1.5 to 2.5 lbs

hey daveocallaghan sounds like you had a good day.
i am gonna try somewhere different tommorow, or on monday as i have tried the same places for too long and it is abviously not to good at the moment. should have thought about this before.:head

Does any one here eat Wrasse? A few people now, mainly rod fisherman, have said they are poisonous and can make you ill. I'm sure its a load of rubbish but has anyone ever been ill after eating one.

i have tried wrasse once ages ago and i think i can safely say they are not poisionous. i remember when i tried it they where just really mushy and thats why i have never bothered with them. have seen some really big ones though mind you,
but i was not ill after eating one.
