My last battery lasted 4 months. I've never had one last 12 months and they mostly need changing twice a year. I dive around three times a week too, weather permitting, so I wonder what I'm doing that's so different? I do use the buttons a lot, checking how many dives I've done while diving, then looking at my days diving when I get home. Maybe that does it?

My local dive shop sells the battery kit for £6.00 but just go and buy a battery for £1 from you local woolworths
Went for an evening dive at babbacombe yesterday, viz was bad at a cloudy 2 meters or less, there were scuba divers around so that might explain the zero fish over a lb seen 
up at 5am this morning, car packed (car fixed
) and took a drive down to Brixham to find looking very fishable got in just off the breakwater. there was a thick cloud on the top and 1 meter viz on the bottom. no fish seen other then small pollack and wrasse, swam around for a bit and got out Going for a scuba try dive this afteroon so no dive this evening hope this viz clears soon I want to dive the lead stone before summers finished

Went into Budleigh in the murk of the river and viz was about 1 metre at best. The river was flowing through various channels in the reef but some blue water was surviving. i dropped into a couple of blue holes and waited for anything to come from the gloom but apart from a glimpse of some skittish Mullet, nothing doing. The tide was dropping and I decided to push out further and good job I did! I went around the base of the third set of reef rocks and settled into another bluer water hole to sit in ambush. After a series of dives nothing had come through and I decided to dive the whole channel to see if anything was lurking in the mid water gloom. Went around the first rock down and in we went 20 ft on and I saw an outline of a sizeable fish- he paused- i didn't and Dave's borrowed gun put the Tahitian straight through the gill plate and out through the gills the other side. I panicked a little as not all the line had been released and i didn't want it not to be able to run but managed to grab it quickly as it sidled away. Got it back to the nearest rock and realised that it was a clonking great bass and not the schoolie I had first thought. This is only my second bass ever and it weighes 5 1/4 lbs!!!!!!!!!!!! You may have guessed that I am ecstatic!!! I haven't sat down yet and i've been home an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice one Tribs and congrats on the PB. Nice fish mate - now you may as well lose all hope like the rest of us - that buzz you have will need a very regular fix. Consolations to your family, friends and social liferofl

I couldn't believe it when i saw it, most Bass at Budleigh, which can be numerous as you probably well know, are carbon copy schoolies. I have fished this coast with bait, rapalas, redgills and more recently the spear for 15 years and have only had/witnessed 5 good size Bass in all that time (5lb+). When this chap popped up I literally couldn't believe my eyes and instinctively fired and the rest is history.:inlove Addict!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey James,
looked this morning and the waves had got up but not excessively. If i wasn't off to france and needing a dry Spearo suit then i would have been in. As i put in my report that larger bass was sat on the edge of the murk hovering beside a shoal of 4" pollack. No coincidence???? He was working that gloom i'm sure.
The back of the reef (Sidmouth side) was flat calm as the SW was smashing the otherside and i've found many shoals have been around in the shelter hoovering up the bi-product.
If this wind gets up leave it but now its doable if you want to take a chance.

Anyone On the Forum Diving the Meadfoot Comp on Saturday ( is it still going ahead?) from what I can gather the water has nearly cleared from all the sewage dumped in it

Hopfully the bad viz will lift, the bay still has that light blue/white look to it so not looking good.

I reacon the Meadfoot comp will be good to go, but like James said check the BSA web site. I have a wedding to go to, and my band are playing the evening reception as well... so I won't be there....oh well, maybe I'll make the Sandybay comp?

Shiny1 as you can see is fairly proficicient taking 2 fish with one shot! I'm far less professional.
However last saturday I shot 2 pigeons with one shot so not too outdone

Same weather here, too cold to go out tonight. I can't compare, i've only seen mullet and a few bass and not shot many yet. Would definatly like to meet up and learn some tips!
