That mullet was pretty tastey, got some decent sized fillets of it!

Yeah the boat would be a bit of a squeeze, maybe we could take Dave's its quite a good size.

Hey Scott. I went down to that spot you showed me yesterday. From the beach it looked great, apart from the two foot swell. Managed to get out past the surf and the vis was shocking. 1 m at best. So decided to find Talland Bay in Looe. Got down there and I was faced with a similar situation. Lots of surf and the water looked well churned up so I blew it off and went to Meadfoot instead. Not too bad, 3-4 m over the moris rogue. Shame there were no fish about. Keep seeing huge dogfish there at the moment. Are they prolific at this time of year ?
Don't know if youve been in to Venture Sports recently, but Anthony's started to get all the Omer goodies in and he's got loads of cressi bits and spares too. For all of you guys who don't know where the shop is, it's in Preston, in Paignton. Well worth a visit. Any way mate I'm off to find Holcome Reef on the incoming tide. See you at the w-end. Dave do you know if Venture Sports have a mail order service, or even better would be a catalogue of what they stock and there prices?
Any info would be great as it would be nice to have another spearo supplier in the UK.

Yes you can order stuff off Venture sports web site, the web add is www.scubadivingstore.co.uk they stock loads of cressi stuff, but omer is a new line and I dont think they've updated the web site yet, but you can probly order over the phone if you know what you want.

I was in Venture Sports over the weekend, Anthony's waiting for all his stock to arrive before he activates it on the website. Ive bought both my cressi guns from Anthony and cant knock the service, very nice guy. Its nice to know that in the future I wont have to fork out for delivery

Now onto todays dive.
Blagged the day off work and launched the boat into very calm water, first spot I saw loads of bass and mullet but none bigger than 2lb so moved on to spot 2, by now the swell had picked up , I found no fish what so ever but I did bump into a lobster. 4lb+ YEEEEEAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!! Happy days

Hey all,

Just got back and the southerly is kicking the living tar out of the beach but managed a nice fat 3lb fish for tea! I had missed one which looked bigger minutes before as i hesitated waiting for a better shot when really i should have just taken the early shot. In hindsight the fish i did get may have been the same fish just coming in again at a different angle. Still, wonderful condition and bass are thin on the ground from what i gather at the mo so anything 3lb + is a good fish currently.

Well, Today was an interesting one to say the least. Packed the gear in the car and drove down to meadfoot, spent 20 minutes going around in circles trying to find a certain reef on the fish finder. marked it with the float and anchored up away from the reef

Shallowest pinnacle was 6 meters with a nice drop off of another 8 meters to a muddy bottom which I have been told is a hot spot for flatties. the whole pinnacle was covered in star fish and spider crabs which was great sight.

No fish other than wrasse seen so jumped back into the boat and......... somehow rammed the shaft on my spare gun into the boat. PANIC stations !!!!!!! fired the outboard up and got back to the beach as quickly as I could.

Bumped into scottmcblue who gave me a hand with the boat CHEERS mate very greatfull. Had to settle on a shore dive after that and bagged a nice mullet for tommorrows dinner.

Took a trip down to Birchleys by the harbour and bought a repair kit. the guy behind the counter gave me 2 small rubber and cork stoppers which he says will help the next time I decide to stick a spear into an inflatable boat.

LESSON LEARNED !!!!!!!!!

Have Apnea in Jersey lost the Omer account? They were the 'official' distributors for Omer in Channel Isles/UK - are Venture wholesaling from Apnea?

I'm hoping to have a go sometime this week having shaken off a raging ear infection. So no doubt I'll have another mishap to report. I'm going to wear earplugs and a swimming cap as I'm prone to the old ear infection. I am doing the 7mile commando challenge where you go through the tunnels underwater etc, Shiny suggested taking the speargun I'd probably miss even in that confined space. Good luck to any of you that get in today.
