Matt all 90's use approx 23cm long screw in bands or 52cm loop bands with screw on wishbones unless your talking custom bulk rubber or dyneema wishbones. Standard bands are 16mm or sometimes 18mm. 20mm are available but rather specialist. different manufacturers use different types of synthetic rubbers and some people prefer certain brands but the difference is small IMHO.

Thanks dave, are the threads / screws all the same diameter? I have a feeling they are 22cm bands after finding a similar gun on the website, I guess thicker bands are more powerfull?

Thicker bands are more powerful but not necessarily better or more productive, best to stick to the guns standard configuration. (or even better buy an air gun)

Got in the water for the first time in ages. Tried a new spot near Plymouth and found sunshine, a flat sea and viz of 8m+. No mullet to be seen and not ever so many bass but did manage one bass of just over 2lb. While looking around under some ledges I saw a group of very big prawns near a hole so went to check them out and saw a big grey head behind them. I was tempted to shoot at it but then I had thoughts of a bent spear, conger slime and a big fight so decided to take a photo instead. The conger I shot in May was just over 13lb and the one I saw today had a head that was approximately twice as big so there's a big one out there if anyone is up for it :martial

Thurlestone tomorrow sounds great but I don't think my employer or family would understand Congratulations on the baby Jez & Mrs. Jez:friday. Take care. Best avoid trying to set new bottom-time records If you can't find a diving partner, may be somebody on the beach with a cell phone?

She seems to have quite a fan club with the prawns and a squat lobster (just visible top right) hanging around the hole

Went looking for all those large bass I saw the other day, but came home instead with a 3lb mullet, a smaller bass and a couple of 2lb pollack. Plenty of 'schoolies' about, but no sign of those big ones. Funny how a spot can change so much from day to day.

Bumped into Shiny in his new boat. He'd taken a plaice, but not a lot else I think. Nice to say hello though.

Dived south coast, yesterday evening, Not much about saw about 10 bass but staying on the edge of the very good viz 10 meters + out deep. Diving 17 meters over clean sand with patches of bare rock looking for big pollock but found a nice large plaice as i dived down. Also landed right ontop a thornback which was nice to see.

Saw a shoal of trigger fish but they didnt want to play aswell.

Ended up with a few pollock 1 mullet and a plaice.

I had a few nice pollack and managed a bass from the oter side in the end. I could make out the bottom @ 55 feet. The viz was amazing
