Hi - Anyone heard about these Marine Sanctuarys which have been discussed and are for the south west??/

We ought to make sure our voice is heard as the proposals cover our are I believe - not an expert but have been mentioned on the yakking website and I am against no take zones having experienced the proposals in Looe. However I understand these are NOT no take zones.

This is the link to the anglers afloat website, but I am not sure of the details - perhaps something we should look into.

Slipped into Venture Sports yesterday pm. I would like to tell anyone who doesn't already know about the shop that it is well worth a visit. We were helped out by a cheerful chap who was very helpful and sold me some gear at a sensible price. What more do you want? Thanks Anthony and thanks Scott for the recommendation.

braved the wind n chop and went in today didnt think there was gonna be ny viz but to my suprise for some weird reason some of the best vis all year duno how to explain that lol.
also alot of fish bss within 3 dives mullet everywhere u looked missed a nice bas which i spoked and saw hide behind a rock snuck up on him but was to slow getting the shot a shoal of mullet and bass all of fair size were around me and waited long as poss to find the biggest one,on one dive dived down and saw a shoal of good sized mullet swimming round a rock none of them coming into range so decided to dart at them and in the mad dash managed a shot on 1 .did i mention fish everywhere also saw a shoal of bass all small must have been 200 of them swimmin round me trying to figure out what i was doing there what an amazing site even as i came up from the dive i looked down and they were swimming around my legs did i mention fish everywhere.
wind really picked up and as the tide turned viz went to pot should of had a few more bass but ended up wit 3 mulet and 2 bass was happy as not expecting much .water always seems more fishy with a bit of chop most fish i ever seen loads of fish everywhere lol.
one of my favourite dives of the year for shore wouldnt mind these winds pissing off though

Hi all went in on tuesday with Dan to brave the chop and the wind the viz was good the chop not to big lots of fish about few good one on the stringer things where going ok but 2H in to the dive things started to go a bit haywire the gust of wind was up to 33knts :martial the chop was no chop any more this was wave big wave so in good spearo spirit we head back to shore i must drifted a bit to much when i put my gun back on the float when a big wave caught the float seatec sub and started to pul me with it after 3 waves washing machine effect the float and i got separeted so i swim after it manage to get it back on to a flat rock only to find that my precious 90 carbon sporasub instinct is missing:waterwork 2 guns in 1 month:vangry
Now the hard bit swimming through the breakers:martial:martial:martial
well i do not recomand that experience:blackeye i think 12 rounds with mike tyson would have been easy than that did manage after 3 fail attemps and some serious fining got back to shore a bit piss of but happy to be in one piece i was glad to find the fitness level was up to scratch in those condition a good day fishing after all and a bit of drama as the french would said c'est la vie!!!:friday
Manage 5lb mullet 4lb, 2 small one and a 3lb bass happy with that

thats a good haul mate. Nothing like a big swell to liven things up :)

what do you use to attach your gun to your float mate ? I found big game clips were good until I got the attol float which has 3 velcro straps to attach each gun

Had a good dive today, viz was 1-3 meters and cloudy just the way I like it, the current was running at a steady pace and the fish were out in the open :)

Took my cayman 90 out as it was looking a bit neglected rofl

Found a nice patch of string weed and lined up just behind it waiting for the fish. I find this works better than lying in or infront of the weed as the fish dont seem to spook so quickly.
First fish was a nice mullet which I took out of a big shoal. Second Mullet was out of a smaller shoal of mixed mullet and bass both fish were 42cm but really thin

I found the third and last fish of the day cruising thru the stringweed just behind a shoal of schoolies lined up and shot him as he turned semi kebabing him :blackeye weighed in at bang on 5lb :friday

Any one know when these southerly are going to bugger off???????

nice catch m8 think theres some westerly's and nw on there way for fri sat and light south winds on sunday so the weekend is gonna be alright for getting in the water i think :friday:friday:friday:friday

Dived friday afternoon, Viz was cloudy but doable. no silvers seen other than a flash in the murk so stuck to shallows looking for flatties.

spent about an hour with my nose to the ground and spotted a nice flounder in the sand which came home with me :)
