i have made a pole spear,there relatively inexpenisve to make. basically the way they work is the diver puts the latex tubing in the V between his forefinger and thumb, then slide his arm up the spear, stretching the tubing. when the diver cna go no further he grips the spear,stopping the tubing from strecthing back. when he sees a fish it's a relatively simple point and let go of the spear, the tubing propelling it forward.businness.has anyone tried this, i have seen it on you tube,how do's the pole work ?

common misconception. a hawaiian sling is an underwater slingshot. the projectile (in the case of the hawaiian sling, a normal speargun spear) leaves the rubbers with the hawaiian sling. a pole spear has the rubbers attached to it.Otherwise known as an Hawaiian Sling.
