Went for a dive today in st brides bay, excellent vis, had southerly winds recently so the south coast spots have been churned up a bit, lots of fish to catch though, just need to hunt around for spots that haven't been affected by the wind

Weather has been bad for last week or so, anyone managed to sneak a good session anywhere recently? Ive scoped a few new spots from the path, and went in one day to try out some new gear but poor vis quickly saw me headed back to the car. Any way surfs been good for last week but keen to get out with my spear again before the fish head off for their winter holidays

Looking to get down later next week as can see this year drifting into spear fishing obscurity. When you say bad viz, what were you taking ?...1-2 mt's ?. Cheers.

Vis has been 1-2 metres at best in st brides bay, south coast not much better either. if im out and and about il post an update. I see on WSF forums some very big fish are being caught by rod and line off the surf beaches.

I bet, massive swell and right time of year. Need to get in, will they later this week and post viz update. Only really fish north coast, and in the kelp, so viz nktso much of am issue when your stalking at depth, can quote oftern be clearer deeper. We'll see.

Had a rummage around in the kelp on a sheltered south coast spot, vis still 1-2M at best, but it does look to be improving. Saw a good school of mullet, may have been some bass in it but to murky to see the ones further away clearly. Didn't manage to get any on my spear though. Also saw the biggest wrasse i have ever seen, startled me a bit he was that big, i would guess in the 10lb region. the biggest i have seen previous weren't even half the size of this one.

There are some massive wrasse on both south and north coasts of Pembs. Beautiful to watch while cutting about in the kelp. So tame. The weather looking desperate again, with big SW winds, so no go for me this week. No idea when as next week looks off the scale a well wise.....nightmare.

well i've had the best spearfishing since i started in size rather then amount, the biggest bass at 7lb, and a few 5lb & 4lb. well happy, shame the weather has cut short the season once again.

i was on hols just outside porthmadog, did'nt take my gear (wife was miffed ) and what happens the water is flat and clear, gutted. i think we were on the lyn penninsula

Got in for a few hours today in St Brides bay, vis 3-4M deeper than 3M, lots of small pollock but no fish taken for the table. Encountered a seal in the water for the first time today, scared the bejesus out of me at first but then was quite fun. So is that it then? have all the fish packed off for the winter?

september october are supposed to be the best months for the larger bass, mind the weather has been dodgey, so who knows

May be down your way for a long weekend on thursday with the wife. May have time to fish if anyone can point me in the right direction. Please PM me with some hints. Hopefully stayin at New Hedges nr Tenby any help would be greatly received. How are condition at the moment n hows it looking for the end of next week......... I know how longs a piece of string ..thought id ask ?it will stop you all from getting to board!!! Roll on some calm weather.

Great!!!
Will we get in again....? Just hope this weeks high means less swell and wind.

Will be down tomorrow for four days hope to meet up some where with someone staying in Tenby town is the harbour or castle rock fishable?any spot near by?Have a good few days boys make the most of it !Will report back if I can find WiFi down there.

nice little dive today, dived deeper than i have before. water was clearer the deeper i went, good 5M vis at depth. saw big pollack, and four or five bass of nice size but missed every single one of them. i have days like that sometimes. First time i had been out in a week as i had a serious case of man flu. but my sinus' seem ok today.

I do find when im diving my sinus's get cleared out with the constant pressure changes and always seem to have blood in it? is this normal?

Anyhow it was glorious being back in the water on such a warm and bright day, and to see some nice fish if not land them.

Radman, down tomorrow...need the fix and can't see it improving over the next few weeks. Were you north or south coast?.

Ha ha- seen the swell and size of the tide-vis will be shocking again everywhere!
Good luck boys- think I'll stick to rod and line this weekend !
