It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
plenty of mullet and a lot of bass being caught by rod & line. the vis is crappy. question when ever i offer a mullet to someone they always say well i'd rather a bass, i find mullet quite tasty especially filleted, so the next time they can pop orf to tesco and get there own bass. lol

shame was looking forward to getting in next week, hopefully will clear up before i go home from uni.
Definitely agree with your comment on mullet, was pleasantly surprised when i tried the first mullet I caught, I think there is a stigma of mullet not tasting as nice due to what they eat but I would be equally be happy with a mullet or bass.

Ma simes web cam is painting a depressing scene at the moment......... Can't believe I have only been in once so far this year.... bad times!!
Time for you to get the wind surfer out Robbo!!

Already there...looking at 5mt weather for next 2 weeks...Ben needs to bring his kite down.

One of the reasons i started spearfishing was because there was a spell, many moons ago, when there was never enough wind for kites- but now I might just go back to the old kitesurf forums and dust off my kit!

So if Rob and i plan to get the sails out we'll be sure to have a calm spell, stupid high pressure, light easterly breezes and no swell what-so-ever!

Sill got the mooring to sort, boat to spruce up and general stuff to be getting on with so i'm going down this weekend regardless. Probably get the rods out instead and try for one of those giant giltheads!

Well I was hoping to get in the water later this week to get some fish and hopefully relax before the weekend - my little brother (DayffdRees) has organised my stag do to take place next weekend - we're staying at Manorbeir YHA just in-case you want/need to avoid the area/us!

Any more up to date vis reports would be greatly appreciated.

Decent bass and mullet west of your place of residence Robbo. Required abit of a walk to find the shelter though. South coast was like glass on Thursday with1-2 metres if vis but I doubt it will hold. Failure to take my surfboard this week resulted in the discovery that spearing wetsuits make brilliant body board alternatives!

Going to be putting in the miles later this week to find some workable viz so fingers crossed.

The fish are back in force...... thank god as its been a long time coming!! Great viz as well, over 7m on the exposed coast with only a small amount of swell. Paddled over 13km yesterday and found fish at most spots.

Happy days!

Me and Daffyd had a few days in pembrokeshire last week in prep for my stag do at the weekend, had a nice night dive on the wed evening - 4 good lobsters taken. The Thursday morning was also good with a couple of decent pollock and 3 huge spiders. Only saw a couple of schoolie bass tho - will try and head back out there this weekend if the weather holds!

Had the most wonderful day spearfishing in Pembroke last weekend with my son Lewys. Caught my first Bass - wow it was a good feeling. There were lots of macs, pollack and also caught a Gurnard on the line.
It was also a pleasure to met Tecdave on the water.

Hope you have a good Stag do Winky.

Just found this clip from when I was down in Thurlesstone spear fishing.
A spearo accidently shot his mate. I was actually down there at the time.

Be carefully!

Recently been talking about this on the Cornwall thread, apparently his mate saw him in the weeds and mistook him for a fish...not sure how that happens, or how you can mistake a person for a fish
