Ah - sorry Murat - was in a hurry - read it wrong! That is an ancient Cavalero. we put JBL bands on it. actually a nice little toy, realy really powerful - Justin took the big grouper in the pic with it. (my fault for breaking a band and having shit range that day - thats my story....)

Is that a hole in that wet suit with movie star blood oozing out? I don't see one in the fish; maybe it's holding up the famous spearo

There's a nice one in the cabesa. What sort of holes have you been leaving in your fish? Ha, that sounded like a commercial.

Hey Keyspearfisher, what sort of getup are you using and for what fish?

:king Hey Willer I'm still using a Cavalero Champion that I bought in '83 . Pretty basic old thing but has given great service ...

that gun was nuts!

we put 3 X 9/16 bands on that a few months after - was pretty wild how fast it was - not terribly accurate though. and the fist time he missed and put it into a rock it shattered the jbl tip we had on it.

oops....

gun of choice

Anderson, If I'm just looking for dinner, alot of the time I will just use a 7' pole spear. Works great for hogs/grey snappers and it doesn't scare my wife to be snorkeling next to me with it. In the coral heads most of the time I use a 36" trident bandito with two 18" bands. Lots of punch, easy to manuver, and the shaft doesn't go forever if I miss(which happens). I free shaft most of the time and this gun is pretty loud, the fish tend to scatter. In the deeper water 35-55, I will use an A.B. Biller. I have a mahagony 48 with two 20" bands and a 53" shaft. This is the most accurate, quiet and smooth gun. I just bought a 36" stainless AB Biller on the web. Haven't used it yet but I hope that it moves like the bandito but is more quiet. I guess it has some plastic bands around the barrel to help stop the metal against metal sound.

Wow, has it been that long since someone's posted pics?

Well, I finally got out of this frost-bitten state and made it to Florida for a few days. Aquiles and I made a couple runs to the reefs outside Biscayne Bay and had a great time.

There were turtles everywhere. One actually gave me a heads up on the company that was following him. About a 12' hammerhead. Yeah, that was kinda fun. :blackeye Actually, it was pretty cool. I got to swim w/ her for about 5 minutes before she got disinterested. What a beautiful creature.

Anyways, on to business....

turtles giving head??

sweet.

Thanks for the reminder that there's always some place greener, eh?

HEY Anderson,

Bloody fantastic! Thank you for the teasers. We are pretty much wiped out here in Central CA. If the visibility doesn't keep you out of the water the bacteria will

I am going to need a warm trip in the spring to celebrate the completion of my school project. Let's hook up

Aaron

Thanks guys. These measly trips make living in the arctic worth while.

But, Aaron... you wouldn't like it down there. The viz was like mud and it wouldn't stop raining. The sun never came out and you had to break the top layer of ice just to get in the water.

Seriously... this is what our Keys Krazes are like. Aaron, I'm glad you're reconsidering. Email me and we'll work out some details. What's Angus up to these days anyhow? Tell him he's invited, too. :t

Looks good andrsn .
All I "know" about Florida is what I've read in Carl Hiaasen's books ...
Doesn't look too bad though .

mmmmm visabilty.... warm water... ahhh, im thinking of wearing 2 wetsuits and using some fish detecting sonar lately

Seems like there will be a hard challenge between Aquiles and Anderson in KK.
BTW anchor line should be something thicker, he is just trying to equalize water temperature.

It'll take a lot more than just shooting fish to take home the KK Kup. You've gotta do well in every single category and it's not just in the water, either. Aquiles has got me beat in the cooking department, but I tell better jokes. :t I think Jay will be more than difficult to beat in cleaning fish and Sven will definitely reign champ in the stinky suit division. rofl M-2's got the chumming bit licked and rigdvr... well, I think he'll just have to work more on his stories.

Anyways, there's never been any hostile competition except for the showers and sleeping quarters. We've got some pretty strict rules on our boats so things always seem to go smoothly when the fish arrive. Not much room for egos and mistakes when the tax collectors are making their rounds. :blackeye

Happy Holidays everyone,
Anderson
