McDaniel Park - there is a nice Weed line/bed just off of that park. In about 5-10 feet of water.
Vis wasn't too bad- bout 10 feet- It was loaded with all those little white/pink bug things - they were clouding up the water there were so many. I saw some HUGE Walleye and some decent size fish. Quite a lot of Carp, Crappie, BG and a ton of Sheepshead. The good weedbeds were in about 10 feet of water. Got spooked by a few large Muskies. Got out of the water cause the sun was about to set. Ended up shoot about 10 Crappie/Bluegills. Saw a couple LARGE PERCH but missed everytime. I was not on my "A" game today. Looking forward to what the lake will look like in a week or so.
Might be going back to the same spot on Sunday after Noon. I'm sure most of you have something going on as it's Mother's Day.
Depending on the wind- I will be entering on the North East at McDaniel Park. Will let you know if I'm FOR SURE going- It would be good to get with a few other divers, I'm going to put together all my footage for a WAUBESA Video. I have good ideas- but they are stuck in my head.

Update- Plan on being at McDaniel Park at 3-3:30pm Sunday. So, I might miss some of ya- We'll see.

Vis: 10 ft
Fish: Average numbers- lots of the smaller ones lingering around today- only 1 perch.
Saw 3 Carp in all.

Waubesa today- 0.5 to 1.5 m max..Very bad..Better in deeper water(5m) but no fish there.Met Randy and Steve on my way out..I am done with Wisconsin waters for the spring..Moving to Europe for a bit.

I went to Dutch Hollow lake in Sauk county today. The viability was to the tip of my speargun Much better than last summer when I checked it out. Then it was about 4 inches. I didn't see one fish. There were too many fisherman with their boats for my liking, so I was only there about an hour. This lake is close to home, I wish it was better. I hope to head north later this week, Adams or Waushara county.

They don't have a boat landing, so I couldn't use my diveyak. I was a lot more tired after 3 1/2 hours then I usually am when I am out all day with the yak. Pulling a float and fish without a brake was a lot more tiring.
The vis was 10 to 12 feet. If my watch temp is calibrated correctly the temp was 68 most of the time 70 was the highest I took note of and 67 was the lowest.
There were a lot of crappies, bluegills, and a few perch. Northern pike and large mouth bass, and I saw one trout. There were several large schools of fish. I took one fish from each school by the docks, rafts and fallen trees. I could easily have had a lot more fish. It was my first time in this lake and I wanted to swim the whole lake to check it out.
The largest crappie was 10 1/2 inches.
I tried my third snorkel today. It was the easiest to clear and breath through, but after 3 1/2 hours my lips where rather swollen and sore. I wish the mouth pieces were interchangeable. The one that is most comfortable has a purge valve and seldom clears totally.
I changed my profile photo until I can get a photo of me in the water.

That's some good eatin' you got today. Don't those perch look a lot bigger underwater?
Everything looks huge to me underwater. I like it when there are several fish together so I can judge their size better. I have never seen a large perch though. I think the largest one I got today was 8 1/2 inches.
Go to Lake Michigan in Late June and early July - The Largest Perch I've ever seen.
Michigan sound like the place to go for Perch. Let me know when you're going.
I am hoping to go to Waushara County next week if anyone wants to rendezvous.

To say they are unpredictable right now is an understatement. Lack of wind and high temps have turned shorelines into bluegreen algae sludge. Yet, the deep holes remain clear. Check before you drive to Madison. It's going to be a case of the "Three bears". No wind - bad. Lot of wind - bad. A little wind - just right. 10mph is a good number.
