nice job I was going to go out there today but was to tired from work. I will be going there to The Wall tomorrow when I get off of work I was told that they were in the boats fishing at 5 and limited out with 3 people by 6 in the morning but I will be there around 4 or 5 if you go tomorrow maybe we could meet up but nice fish cause They always bite the end of our spears

I took the kids to devil's Lake today and did a bit of diving while I was there. Vis stunk, only about 5', and the water was cold for this time of year- 72F.

Lakes around here are pretty discouraging right now. I need to find some time to try out black hawk, or get out on some of the wrecks in Lake Michigan.

Jon

Nice perch! Those are some hogs.

Still haven't made it up to Wisconsin on account of being so busy, but I'm heading up for a trip some time next week to try out Lake Michigan. I'm meeting my brother up near Sheboygan. Couple questions: Would this be the best spot to drop in in the area? And also, what are the rules for camping/fires on the Lake Michigan beaches? We're going to need to find somewhere to set up camp in the area. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure about the Fires on the beach- I know people do it all the time- just not sure on the rules. Sheyboygan has some good spearing- by the Harbor wall there- I've seen lots of fish. Look for structure and you'll find fish.

I'll be sure to check out the harbor, thanks for the tip, Whopper.

Thanks for the link, Jon, that certainly looks like the place you want to be.

Can't wait to get in that water!

Me and the wife decided to go to door county to go camping over the week, just happened to bring the wetsuits and see if we could catch supper. Unfortunately all we saw were carp and smallmouth, but it was fun swimming around in the clear water. Bought a cheap disposable underwater camera from walmart, pictures turned out ok i guess.

According to the news Lake Kegonsa is now covered in Blue Green algae. Blue-green algae covers most of Lake Kegonsa

The rest of the local lakes pretty much suck as well, and the only diving I've gotten in as of late in up in Devil's Lake- which doesn't allow spearfishing of any kind. :(

However, things are about to change as I leave for a 10 camping/diving trip up to Vilas county!:friday Still no spearfishing allowed, but plenty of clear lakes. There's a bunch I've dove before, and a few new ones I want to try. Last year my new 'find' didn't pan out so well as the locals had removed the public access points.:head I drove my whole family around for well over an hour trying to find the public access on this pretty little lake that i could see, but couldn't touch. All of the fancy vacation homes surrounding it might have had something to do with the access issue and I hope the DNR nails them for it. :martial This year I have a whole slew of new lakes to try and there has to be access on at least one or two. I also am dragging the kayak up so I can get to them by water if need be. I also have a new camera to try so we'll see what kind of shots I can get.

See you all in a couple weeks.

Jon

Hope it's great, Jon. I fear another disappointment may push you over the edge.

Nagawicka Lake is warm enough to spear in a swim suit right now, which is what i did yesterday. The visibility is lame around 7ft, but is good for some ninja spearing. Reason, Valadas and I each shot some large carp (6 total) on the far side of the island the other day. Valadas has some awesome pictures that I hope he puts up.

Going to a very clear lake over the weekend just north of madison if anyone wants to join FULL of carp buffolo quils and a few gar if anyone wants to go I am thinkibng of going sat. My buddy got 50 by himself last time and I want to beat his record so either post on here or just call me cause it will be a great time and I don't want to have all the fun my number is 2624962848

Anyone ever swim at Pickerel Lake up north passed appleton? I'm going to be there this weekend and will probably jump in and spear around after some wakeboarding.

Anyone ever swim at Pickerel Lake up north passed appleton? I'm going to be there this weekend and will probably jump in and spear around after some wakeboarding.

There are over 15 lakes with that name in WI. Most are up north of Appleton. Many are in none spearing counties. What county is it in?

I know it is illegal to spear bass, but is it legal to spear bass on lakes without a size limit??

Thanks
