Thanks Joel , good work with the 4 pounder ! I did look at some Hollis ones and they do seem very good for the money. Im a bit of a gear tart and the words 'marine grade aluminum' and 'teflon impregnated' excite me , so i may have to go for the metalsub!
:hmm:hmm Have a look on ebay for xtar Cree xml t6 led torch seller is big-f-d-d ! 60 ponds with lithium battery charger case spare seals n grease I have one so do some of the dorset lads it's stunning have a look he's got some great gear for bikein walking camera mounts.etc its small but fantastic.
Thanks but its okay, i probably wont go this weekend if no one else is about, and if i do it would prob just be a day dive. Id rather dive with a buddy at night. Think il just order one , im sure there belting torches
Plus It's called a METALSUB ! which sounds like a death metal band....Wheras Hollis sound like a folk duo.....or Prog rock at the very most......

Probably the best torch you can buy for around £100 is the Princeton Tec Shockwave LED - they really are quite exceptional bits of kit! A lot of people use them.

Yeah the princeton tech one looks nice, i have just ordered the metalsub though! thanks for everyones suggestions,
That was the Princeton Tec mate, it's a great torch - I picked it up on eBay earlier this year for the grand total of £17 rofl It's somehow brighter than my 1,000 Lumen Superstar T6 and has a burn time of around 14+ hours!
I don't really use it any more though... now the Xeccon has arrived :blackeye

I like to keep it for a spare and for my girlfriend / friends to use though - can never have enough torches!
You can probably pick one up on eBay for £35 - £45: they have a life-time guarantee on them which is pretty good, the switch snapped on mine, I emailed Princeton Tec and they just posted me a new one, no questions asked! Was shocked!

Bit gutted now,would have got one instead of the Hollis,just assumed they would be over the 'ton' so to speak.....ah well,I do need a spare/already have one......Ha ha! Very good mate

I'd guess that the Llyn is going to be ruined mate - it's been hammering S, SSW @ 20mph+ all week - such a bloody shame! Was so keen to get out!
Somewhere on the North side might just about be fishable but it won't be good.
