Not my best day got back and had my mullet for dinner it was suppriseing good!God when its dark down here its bloody dark !

cold calm flat this morn was blue sky n great sun rise but now the perverbeal black sky n down pour be gone in half an hr !

Great story Dario,

Denian nice vid mate. supprizing whats about at night.

This is my haul from Sunday night. Got in about half 8 till 11 at Pwllheli. Awesome dive. vis was 3-5M with the odd pocket of fresh water(where the water goes all blury)

Loads of Bass around, small schools 3-4 strong. the odd loaners but nothing over 2lbs.

Took the mullet on a quick long shot thinking it was a bass, as this was all id seen. still Battered mullet chips and mushy peas for dinner tonight.

The weathers changed so this weeks out. Might be my last chance before the bass depart for deeper water. lets hope not.

Are there any sewage out lets round that way there was all sorts of stuff in the water the other day.which pipes still pump stuff out? theres one at criccieth one of pen y chain one by marina and one down aberdaron poss comeing out in stream?do they pump out on highs?or am i paranoid?

Nice work bass-d.

I was hoping to make a weekend of it this weekend before it gets much colder, but the weathers looking shocking all week. Although it does look to drop off sat I fear the vis will be appalling at the w/e...... Maybe north? What do people think?

Ah thats the magic question! Only if we lived there. We are lucky to have such a choice of sea facing sheltered coast/bays/ shame the south side is so sandy /silty but we just make the most of it go n rumage no matter what.walk some of the coast and find some new spots to try hopefully theywill be great the next time you come down ..my new glass fronted houseing came today so i wont to try that out soon for the gopro that is .

You should not dive at Criccieth if you can help it - it's one of only three places in Wales where the water is certified as polluted by the Environment Agency. There's a sewage outlet somewhere around the little pier.

There is an emergency overflow at Aberdaron (in the stream) but that is only used in bad weather.

Aberdaron was once certified as bad BUT it was only when it was tested in bad weather. In good weather it's fine.

If you remember, earlier this year I had the misfortune to swim through the fresh water coming out of the stream on a night dive after some heavy rains - the water smelt terrible - got home and ate half a pack of doxycycline rofl

Looking at the continued weather on XC, I think I'm done for the season :waterwork

Manic flipper- I got it of net from surfsurfsurf £49.99icl pnp just thought the price sounded reasonable so ordered it Sunday eve arrived recorded delivery Tuesday fab service .shame I was at work got it now gust playing with it .Don't know when I'm going to get out won't be this weekend defo next tho.

Broseidon where have you been ?away somewhere hot or work work work? Sat. night I was in aberdaron tryin to get in by the NT carpark/stream it was v high tide n stream was like a brown coffee river I was to scared to cross it with it being dark and waves coming up n all not knowing what was under the water its normally at little clear stream !so I walk all along the big boulders to get in at the corner! Pitch black as you would know not a good idear.it didn't look or smell good!

I've been lurking buddy, just haven't had much productive to say ;)

I've nearly been down a few times but have been foiled by weddings, work and having to look after an ill family member.

Bad news about the stream at Aberdaron, sounds nasty! It was clear when I was there, just smelly! The water had quite a few tiny Bass cruising about in it, totally unafraid of the torchlight, I even tickled a few with the speartip! It great to see the fish up close as it was my girlfriend's first night dive but I got a proper bollocking about the sewage rofl

Ha ha ha ha ha! rofl

All the best nights with me require three showers and a healthy dose of antibiotics - just ask DafyddRees ;)

Hi Bois,
Conditions were good. on the night dive Denian, calm i was sheltered a little from the wind and swell. Though I even went round the rock, vis was still good. Thats where I took the mullet.

Sewage outlets. they'r 100x better now. i remember floaters, lady products, condoms and everything els youd rather not encounter at eye level all over the bay. Funny thing is there was loads more fish about back then.

I know Criccieth has failed but I doubt its got anything to do with the sewarage outlets. More likely run off from the land, especially farmland. Criccieth has loads of storm water drains.

Im not sure when they discharge I know the ones in harbours discharge on the ebb, but again I wouldnt worry about them, though I guess i must have built up my imune system to compensate.

North side Might well be divable this weekend!!
