It is very difficult to size fish without weighing them.I thought my bass was only 8-9lbs when i shot it:head

Here's a picture of Ferathespear holding my bass and now it looks big.By the way thats a 2lb mullet sticking out of it's mouth.

Interesting gun -- mid-handles seem to be quite a thing in North Wales. Maybe we need to get you guys come down & show us their advantages.;) Always impressed when somebody makes something like that. Very cool.
Well you're always welcome to spend some "action packed" time up here with us dude if you want to try out some middies.
HEDS' gun is rather awesome, I've only seen it the once but I was very impressed with it. it looks to be a lucky gun for sure :)

Hey guys, am back on the net for a short while!!! well about an hr or so!!! we are sooooo busy at the mo!

Went in down south (pembs) last Thurs evening and got my first bass of the year!!! not huge but a lean 3lber. Saw a load of others as well but again all sammall fish witha few bigger fish at the back of the school. Viz was a very green 2-3m with a lot of suspended matter in the water.

Will hope to go for a dive up north this week as am working in Wrexham on Wed/thurs and are off in the days as we are doing newt and bat surveys at night!

Will let you know how I get on!

Dave

Thanks, I am overdue for a trip up to N. Wales.

Glowworm, I wasn't doubting the weight of your fish.;) [Although stuffing it with 2lb mullet would be a interesting way to up the weight! Did you see the bill fish program last week? The world's heaviest gamefish was caught by a Texas oil man, it was beaten by a woman but when they weighed hers more than 100lb of squid fell out of its mouth -- loosing her the record. Morale of the story - weigh them mouth up?:D]

Hey John,
Yep am up doing newts, water voles and bats on a bridge in Wrexham so will hope to get the days off and may go over to the coast on wed or thurs. will prob be Anglesey but may venture down the Lleyn.

You or anyone else about for a dive??? Pastor?

Hi guys, I'm back from Mallorca really fit and ready for the bass!
Good to see you on the net John!
Next weekend I'll be around north wales (no sure yet where about but sure in the water), anybody keen to dive?

I have a hectic week :martial!! i will be up for it by the weekend , saturday for sure! High water is around lunchtime methinks , and the wind should turn southerly, weather will be ok cross fingers:) .

Give me a call if your about, I certainly hope to get a dive in sometime. I have to finish the boat trailer and fit a tow bar this weekend too or the boat will never get out, so fingers crossed I might get to squeeze some time in. Next weekend with luck I'll be taking the trailer to Liverpool to be galvanised :friday:friday

Ok Pastor, I'll call you for saturday. High tide is lunch time, I've understood the south cost of anglesey is unfishable for the viz, isnt it? So north coast or leyn peninsula.

I'll take a look at the viz as tomorrow evening and let you know when you call. If it's the north coast or the Lleyn then I will have to give it a miss as it will take too much time away from getting the trailer finished. That has to take priority for me at the moment as the real fishing season will be here very soon and it needs to be ready for that :)

Hi Pastor any bfurther news on the vis situation?

I know Dario had a look at sveral places on anglesey and the Lleyn on saturaday and it was dirty everywhere.:-( Hoping things will improve soon...

Still looking grim, maybe closer to poo colour than the clear blue we all crave. With luck it may become fishable by the weekend but it's getting towards plankton bloom time and that generally lasts until the beginning of July. The fish arrive about now but you just can't see them for a few weeks.

Dario, it was good to meet you too, you're welcome any time mate :)

Yesterday evening I got in on Anglesey and vis was 2-3m. Just saw one bass when I was coming back but I was swimming so no chance. BTW water is still very very very cold!

I have fractured my knee and pulled a ligament :crutch:crutch
So i wont be going for a good while now.:(:(

Ps ... no 'pulling' jokes please pastor ... before you start!!:)
