freediving

i have been seen articles that mention things such as :
The physiology and psychology of freediving?

in reality the damage that yoga can do is not so much physiologic but rather psychological..

if you see this commandment you can find tha God mention 3 organ tha we used for freediving-there your can find the truth meaning about the psychological and physiologic for the freediving

it say:

" Love the lord your God with all your heart and with all yor soul and with all your mind and with all your strength"

Anything, including religions and philosophies can be abused to the detriment of the user and others in his/her influence.
What have you got against yoga? Yoga accepts your religion (and mine) and prophets in it's philosophy.
Leave your extreme beliefs off this forum. Nobody's listening, just as they weren't listening on the IAFD and FreediverUK forum. Let us have our own way of connecting spiritually. This is a freediving forum, not a place to preach.

what does it mean to submerge ourselves and even breath the air that is given to us if we never desire to believe the truht for wich we were created.

God forgive our evil desires and our indifference towards Him and takes it as ingnorance and not as rebellion.

Then why are YOU still at it mate?

If I want to hear about God, I'll do my own research, and simply not take the word of man, ie yours.

I think enough people have asked you to stop this kind of posting, so please, by all means, believe what you want, but be gracious and respectful enough to allow everyone else to do the same, without being harassed for it. Last I checked this forum was about freediving and not bible bashing.

If you feel the urge to respond, please Private message me, that way the rest of the people of the forum won't have to be subjected to this (my apologies folks) anymore.

P.S. Yoga was around before you or your religion. I'm not sure of the yoga death toll, but I'd venture so far as to say many more people are killed by religious zealots.

hi

Hey Erik you got any tips for me to get past 6:30.

this is how a good session would look like.

30sec breathe up : 4min static
30s bu : 5min static
1min bu : 5:30 static
1min bu : 5:40static
2min bu : 6min static
2min bu : 6min+ static

Sometimes these times change dramatically depending on the mood im in when contractions come, if contractions come earlier than normal I give in straight away.

However this is the same breathe up pattern I follow EVERY time. You reckon I could maybe adjust something.

cheers

ps This is dry static of course

Ivan, I would lengthen the breathe-ups. But that;s me: there are guys doing really short breathing intervals and getting great success.
After the first breath-hold I do at least 3 minutes of breathing for each hold. Before the final hold, I would do 5 minutes of slow breathing, including Eric F's method of two 10 second holds and some "purge breaths" before the big one.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

hi

Cheers Bud

Next session on my last attempt I will do 5min bu, thats if I havent passed out by then

Do you just hold for 10sec after an inhale then exhale it or something. Also does purge just mean short sharp breathing.

cheers

hi

ivan when do you usualy get contractions (looking at your sesion).
You have similar bu times as me (my breath up times usualy don't get over 1:30)

hi

On the last attempt the longest ive been without contractions is 4:45, but normally I have to focus really hard just to get 4:30.

cheers

I did my first max static ever today : 3'07" . In the "beginner forum" I asked how I could recognize contractrions, as I had never felt any before
doing dynamics. But doing a static, I felt 'em allright :duh .

They started at 2'30" and I must have had at least 15.

Ivan, I feel that with contractions I can set a better time because I keep thinking : well what the hell, I'll have just one more . But maybe the seconds ticking away have the same effect on you, without the discomfort.

improved my pb

I improved my static to 3'11" today after doing a co2-table.
It's a dry static btw.

I started getting contractions at about 2'20" , at 2'45" I had to pinch my nose otherwise I would breathe. As a consequence I did some "negative" equalizing (creating a vacuum in my nose and ears, sure wish I could do the opposite in a pool).

Does anyone else have to do this or experiences the same thing ?
And has the static pb challenge thread died ?

Hey buddy, here's how I do it.
When there's around 30 seconds left before your final hold, take a breath and hold it for 10 seconds. Blow it all out quickly, then hold again for 10 seconds. Blow that out, then do a few purge-breaths. These are basically hyperventilation from the belly, a little faster than 1 per second. Not too deep. On the last exhale before the final hold, exhale fairly deeply to clear out CO2 in the lungs. I do about 5 to 10 purge breaths. For actual diving I would only do 3 to 5, or sometimes none at all. My justification for that kind of breathing is that the two 10-second holds will have put a little extra CO2 in your lungs, so the purge-breathing will balance the equation a bit. Tons of top freedivers use something similar, especially in competition.
Cheers,
Erik Y.

Amazing....

Congratulations!!!

Can you share your method for statics?

-Ventilation, hyperventilation?
-Warm up apnea's?
-Was it in an indoor or outdoor pool?
-Your training?

It's always interesting to hear how the 7min+ people do it.
