The Guernsey spearfishing & social 2016

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Unfortunately we have had several late cancelations (nothing new there of course) however we still have 16 divers for the competitions :)
The weather forecast NW winds for the next week meaning that our East coast venue will be flat but we will have to wait a few more days to confirm the Knife venue.
I will post more details and times later today....

As the regular members would have noticed we have not arranged any social gathering for the Friday night.
However I am sure we will catch up with everbody before, if not we will all meet at Bulwer Avenue car park opposite radio Guernsey.

Saturday the 30th July - Competition starts at 9am & finishes at 4.00pm - Low tide is at 10.30am @ 2.85m
Sign on from 8am & closes at 8.59am

Where is East coast venue mate?

Bulwer Avenue, car park opposite radio Guernsey.
Between the Bridge and town mate, facing Herm.

Please make sure you have read the rules.
Although this is just a friendly competition we are concerned about safety, we will phone the emergency services if anyone has not signed out by the allocated time.
Don't forget you must have a high vis float attached to your person or not be more than 25m from your float.
Full rules are on post 116 of this thread.
I know there are several members who wont want to spend the whole competitions time in the water, that is fine, you can enter & leave any time during the allocated times. The most important thing is.... remember to sign on & sign out at the correct time :)

See you tomorrow Mart. We'll drop by sometime late afternoon to say Hi. I think we're off to the Terrace Garden for grub in the evening.

Well we had a jolly evening in the fire house with Chris, Jenny, JP, Sarah, Juan & myself... to many Rocqettes maybe1
I managed a black bream & Golden grey this morning but the vis was not very good!
So tomorrow, for any one interested, we will meet at the Terrace bar Café around 6pm
PS we saw a 10lb 6oz Gilthead in the fishmonger today.

Nice and calm this morning :)
We had some great food at the terrace last night, it is always nice to welcome back old faces.
So we meet at 8am this morning for day one of the specimen hunt.
This will be a longer comp than normal, 7 hours in the water is a long time but I think there will be a few who will make the most of the opportunity!
