I went yesterday evening to durslton ,it was okish but it could have been churned so i decided to have a relaxed one at the west side of the pier in Swanage instead,it was flat calm there despite of the SW gale,it was actually successfull,I saw loads of seabass ,many small though but managed to bag 3 ok ones.Again getting for the high tide is best ,viz around 4-5 m .
Next BH weekend I will be in pembrokeshire so I won't be able to join you then, thanks for the offer
Ciao
have fun guys, im sat at boscombe beach at my hut and its a proper south westerly gale blowing in with plenty of chop. May be ok at durlston later though

Hi Cesar,

How close do you go to the peir? Just wondering if the spearing nazis disappear if so what time?

Cheers

Ryan

Ok so who is up for the Bank holl Monday dive and BBQ then and any ideas where that wont be crowded with Grockles ????

Hi Ryan
I was close to old pier and from there towards peveril point ,in between the boats (quite a few by the way),I almost got run over by one of them that did not realised I was there ,I definately shouted at him ,I did not have the pleasure to see the pier master or his nazi friend

I wish you well

Cesar

I'm up for a bank hol dive & BBQ. As for location, well I think that the weather may dictate that, but for a few suggestions without too much walking hows about Chesil Cove, Osmington, Kimmeridge, Swanage or may be Long Groyne?

like the lack of walking bit mate, maybe chessel as it should be free parking and easyish for everyone to get to.

Any ideas or objections anyone ????

how about sunday on the bank holiday? and ringsted as a venue? give everyone chance to have a day to get their heads together after a gut full of food and beer:friday! just a suggestion?

The hundredth entry in the Hall of Fame was added today. If you haven't looked lately there are some great new catches.

The Fish of the Month UK is also doing well. Some diverse entries this month. Remember the winner is by popular vote so a novices catch or an unusual fish may well be a worthy entry and even a winner.

Have a check of the rules for HOF and FOM and bare in mind for when you make that special catch.

Good luck to all.

Dave.

Ringstead is expensive parking & um I don't like it much:rcard
- I would prefer Monday at Chesil if you want my vote

2nd vote monday & chesil
the parking is expensive at ringsted and will prob be really busy on the beach if the weather is good didnt think about that one.

And what about today?,any club dive this evening?,I should finish work at 5:30 today so happy to go this evening if it is happening.
Cesar

Re the BBQ over the bank holiday week end. I'm working Sat & Sun, so I can only make it if it's on the Monday. As for location, well I'm easy, so far Chesil Cove looks favourite. I had a session there on Monday afternoon 240809, it was fairly choppy with SW winds, vis at about 2 metres and no decent fish seen. Entry and exit were interesting!

Gents, I cannot do the bank holiday as i am in Newquay down in Cornwall.
I will be meeting up with Brett "Surfnspear". Hopefully we can get out, he has his boat down there & maybe I'll get down & around the headland at Crantock/Pentire.

Enjoy your bank holiday all.

Just got back from Crantock - take the surfboard!

Done, took advise.
7.2 minimal is with me, butno room for the spearo gear.

Very choppy down here, so prob wouldn't have a chance get the gear on and get out.

Hi All,

Any news on the club dive bbq? - I am favoring Monday purely because I have to go out and have a few shandys tonight! :friday
I'm happy with Chesil cove or anywhere else we can find some Vis with all this wind! :head

Cheers
