i take it no one made it back from durley rocks then....rofl

I think only two people managed to turn up mate (no doubt due to a lack of kayaks amongst the club). They probably haven't looked at this forum since Tuesday, but I've spoken to Paul Smith on the phone and, reading between the lines, it doesn't sound as though it was a resounding success (although, apparently, valuable lessons have been learned for next time).

Dive report for Durley Rocks:t

Nothing sinister - just didn't find the best rocks as we didn't have GPS & we have only ever dived it before from a boat. No fish seen however we did get a lot of exercise & enjoyed it. Lookin to do another kayak dive somewhere - anyone any ideas?

How about from the northern end of Swanage Bay, round Old Harry Rocks, and into Studland Bay (or vice versa)?

Chris Reynolds has has a kayak, Rick has one, Silent Steve has one, you and Broughy both have them . . . mine's in Plymouth at the moment, anyone know where I can hire one locally?

Training Banks? Hengitsbury Head? Blood Alley? Local sandbars that hold flatties? Thinking of places that are boat busy, as well as places that are difficult to reach from the shore.

anyone have any idea for a club dive this eve, let me know and i will txt it out ???

I won't be able to make it as I am off to Plymouth/Cornwall today, for a couple of weeks.

Good luck though.

looks like its that time of year , everyone on holls.

Probably best to give it a miss and save the brownie points then eh,

Hope you all enjoying the sun anyway, while it lasts !!!!

Hi Cesar,

Do you have a kayak?

we are looking to plan a club kayak dive sometime soon

Hi Chaps
I cannot believe my luck ,so tomorrow strong winds again!!!.I am still determined to try ,today it was a beautiful day and I hope the sea won't get too rough,I'll go to durlston bay at around 5:30-6:00 catching the raising tide,I 'll park up in the free carpark where flats are and little woods-walk starts to descend to the bay,I hope I see somebody there.
See you soon

Hi Gaz,

I was hopin to get down to you in Rame Thurs afternoon - any good for you?

P

Yeah, good for me mate - give me a bell when you get here.

I've only just arrived myself (late Weds night/early Thurs morning - stopped off on the way, will explain later). Not seen the water yet, but my brother tells me that they have got some of that toxic red algae around here, so be prepared for that. I'm sure we'll find a safe place to get in though.

Gaz.
