I was gonna try to get down and jump on that Plymouth Breakwater trip, but I properly stabbed myself in the hand with a Stanley knife yesterday at work, so I'm gonna be out of the water for a week or two now - bugger!

Hey everyone,

Wind forecast is for a very strong northeasterly tomorrow, and it's been blowing a gale from the east today. I think Poole / Swanage area will be a complete no-go, so....Any suggestions for dive spot for tomorrow night?

Please let there be somewhere, i have spent all weekend sorting out my float so i need to see if the modified bodyboard still floats with all the straps and bolts through it, lol :)

If not will still have to meet for a pint eh !!!

Can't make it tomorrow, but I reckon you've got to consider Chesil Cove as a strong contender. Kimmeridge might be ok. Chapmans is nice and sheltered, or maybe even Worbarrow, if the military aren't firing. I reckon Ringstead will probably still be blown out though. I guess you've got to balance the long drives/walks against the possibilty of viz - it might be dreadful all along the coast, or you might just find a spot that is just about fishable. Personally I'd head for the other side of Portland.

All, just got in from a nice evening, we dived the far end of chessel beach on the west side where the water was glassy calm with very good vis.

Paul smith found that the water was deeper than he expected not far from shore with an estimated 40 - 50 foot dives.

Sadly no fish were caught but i found my adapted bodyboard float worked a treat and did not sink with all the stainless steel bolts through it (told Rick he should have patented the idea).

Paul Also has a few good ideas about future meets that im sure he will let you all in on before next week.
