It does not surprise me that the list (in general) ends up with the lowest populations up higher. Some exceptions of course, some teams had great showings and others had their issues. The US would have needed 30,500pts just to get in the top 5. All the competitive freedivers in the US could have competed and still would have come up extremely short I think. I know that is not the point of the chart you put together.
The real reason for my post: The points are great and all, I'm just glad that the sport has a core group of competitors and enthusiasts to organize and compete. I would like to say to the US competitors, thank you for going and representing us. The US Freediving community is pretty small and the divers representing the US are pioneers of the sport for us. Maybe one day I'll be able to compete at such an event!! I'm 36 and living in the middle of corn fields, I have a lot of work to do!!
