Oooops. That's where I am now. Could you come down and knock me loose? ¿?¿

LOL Apneaaddict that reminds me of the "unconventional dive with poor equalization" video clip on your blog. I seriously laughed so hard I had tears...love IceAge but had not seen the movie that one is in.
Chipswim, I have experienced what you're talking about too, from trying to use too small a skinsuit. I had one Henderson that was too tight, and a mares trilastic that was too loose. I'm currently thinking of getting one from Yingfa. I am really looking forward to seeing what the two Lunocets will do with a good suit. I swam a few laps with the tight Henderson suit with my Glide fin (before getting the Lunocet) and the difference in top speed and glide was really noticeable/remarkable. I can't bring myself to trim/shave half my body surface area to accomplish this, so I have to have a full suit! I have a feeling that with a good suit I will be able to do much more than I can without. There is also much more feedback from skin/muscle to brain, and good technique may be easier to do with a suit on than just jammers. The combination may make my swims significantly faster/longer and more pleasant! I would like to compete one day, and I think with a good suit and a Lunocet I would have a good time ;-)

Neurodoc!
Enjoy your observations between the two fins. You help dangle the carrot a little closer. Still Enjoying my classic very much. Feel for the swimmers who don't have either one yet.......... Soon!!!!

Appreciate the guidance from the group on experiencing a slippery, flesh compacting wet suit or skin suit. The XL actually fits fine and is quite enjoyable for monofinning. There is noticeably less drag with it on.

Also had better luck making a neck weight this time using the mountain bike tube and the dog collar zip tied into the ends. Before I added to the dog collar which was uncomfy.

I wondered about the kinesiology of hanging toxic lead around our necks even though it's encased in rubber. I'm thinking of substituting some of those polished magnetic stones possibly gaining a boost from the energy fields. Just brain storming.

Been watching International news on TV in case Noa's Pro arrival in Greece is mentioned there before he gets it posted here.
The "funny" thing is that the fin has been in the country since Wednesday. But, it has to come from Athens to the island of Crete which will not be until sometime next week. A hair over a week to get from the States to Greece, and a week to get from Greece to... Greece. That might explain a few things about this wonderful and wondrous country. To keep it short, Greeks like to take their time... : )

You're not alone... It happens everywhere and specially with international parcels...
I've seen all kinds of things and living in the Azores I know all about shipping delays and issues... some websites even have Azores in the country's list for shipping (like it's another country) :D
But I've sent quite a few parcels (custom gopro quick release 3D printed mounts to fix on the mask or spearguns) to the US by an express service and it takes a week to get to the US and another to be delivered....

So close! it will be exciting to see your first post when you get the fin :) It is visually impressive in person; looks very organic/lifelike at first and yet machined in great detail up close. I had several people, both children and grownups, watching and asking questions as I began my swim yesterday at the pool. It will be a fun moment for you when you open the box!

My shoes arrived yesterday (yep, delayed too)... tryed them like 10 times already :)
Can wait to get the whole setup.

Yeah, it will be one of those butterfly stomach moments...

A video I came across, that has someone swimming with a Lunocet (spelled wrong in the video, so it does not show up in searches).

What shoes did you get ?
Shimano SH-R133
It's a discontinued model but has all the specs I wanted (was like the second or third from the top of the line when launched) and a killer price!!!!!

Shimano SH-R260L for me. $199.99 is full retail. Also got a deal. In their box awaiting Pro. Ted and Noa and Revan should get marketing awards from the bike shoe manufacturers!

Set up an experiment for tomorrow's swim. I've noticed the Lunocet 2014 Classic has felt like it has less resistance the last couple of days...... What I call "loose" or you could think too much deflection too easily.

Contemplating that "feedback" while swimming this morning it occurred that it may be the fresh Tyr Torque Pro skin suit lowering the resistance to forward movement causing the loose sensation. I'd really like it if that is what I'm feeling!

Just dry checked the fin set up by flexing it over my knee and don't think it has softened. Was hoping that may be the case. The reason is that I may now prefer or be able to benefit from a "higher gear" which would mean a stiffer setting = less deflection therefore more forward movement for the same stroke. I strongly prefer the fin to respond to even slight movement and NOT demand a lot of amplitude to go faster. Sooooo....

The new setting for tomorrow is significantly stiffer than it was the last few weeks. I'm thinking it's going to be more efficient using the Lunocet 's adjustability to further cash in on the improved glide of the suit.. It will make the morning trip to the pool kind of like having a new fin!

If the setting is TOO stiff there will be too much resistance to the stroke NOT rewarded by more propulsion.... The over stiff fin would also be difficult to get moving because it would fail to deflect enough causing the foil / flukes to stall rather than "fly" forward. Then I'd have to back off on the stiffness a bit.

AA.... Safely escaped the magnetic drain situation.... Keep writing / evaluating !! Looking forward to you observations!

Lunocet Bikini swim Erika !

Same girl. Another Lunocet video. This one a full under water tour with tanks in one of the diving locations that show up regularly. ? Blue hole somewhere ? Maybe the male monofinning is one of you guys?

Bikini swim Erika and Nik together:

Here's a Lunocet Pro video, of me this evening. Not my best technique, and the video revealed more faults to me as they almost always do. But, it was a fun relaxing swim and I attempted to show some kick and glide technique. My glide still has my knees bent a bit in the video-it isn't necessary for the Lunocet Pro, but sometimes old habits come back. Still working to get rid of that habit!

A second video, where I attempted to do the first half slow then accelerate to demonstrate some of the acceleration of the fin.

Ted does almost everything in house including anodizing of aluminum parts..... I think. Early Lunocets were partially promoted with color choice. I'll bet he can still do that but functionality kind of trumps all options till that gets dialed in!

Actually if you look closely the red in this case is on my cycling shoes; the Specialized shoes have red heel/toe pads. It's a replaceable hard plastic piece, essentially what wears out from walking in cleated cycling shoes. The Lunocet parts are all black, at least on mine. I have not heard of any color choices being available, but since Ted does all his own anodizing-who knows in the future? I would not put it past him to do some batches in alternate colors if there were demand, but it looks great in black.

Doc!!!!!

You are obviously toooo young to answer the red question correctly! That's a good quality!

It's the first video YOU posted of the young lady in the red bikini....... With matching red anodized parts on her Lunocet. First one like that I've ever seen too. You can see THAT red at the beginning of that video while she is still on the dock. Highlights the color of her eyes.

Marginatus has shown in the past that he is extremely observant of fin variations! The bikini was a good test for him I'm sure!
Good eye! A+ again for Marginatus' attention to every detail!

Just back from morning swim. Experiment worked GREAT! More gliding available per stroke = very nice! In my mind playing the tape of Revan flying that reef. Looked so fun! Searching for and finding something more like that..... Wouldn't it be fun to all meet some day on his gliding reef ?!?! Would be cool to glide in formation with several of all fins represented!
