Actually if you look closely the red in this case is on my cycling shoes; the Specialized shoes have red heel/toe pads. It's a replaceable hard plastic piece, essentially what wears out from walking in cleated cycling shoes. The Lunocet parts are all black, at least on mine. I have not heard of any color choices being available, but since Ted does all his own anodizing-who knows in the future? I would not put it past him to do some batches in alternate colors if there were demand, but it looks great in black.
I was talking about his (go to 2:40):

Black and shipped is fine for me :)

Doc!!!!!

You are obviously toooo young to answer the red question correctly! That's a good quality!

It's the first video YOU posted of the young lady in the red bikini....... With matching red anodized parts on her Lunocet. First one like that I've ever seen too. You can see THAT red at the beginning of that video while she is still on the dock. Highlights the color of her eyes.

Marginatus has shown in the past that he is extremely observant of fin variations! The bikini was a good test for him I'm sure!
Good eye! A+ again for Marginatus' attention to every detail!

Just back from morning swim. Experiment worked GREAT! More gliding available per stroke = very nice! In my mind playing the tape of Revan flying that reef. Looked so fun! Searching for and finding something more like that..... Wouldn't it be fun to all meet some day on his gliding reef ?!?! Would be cool to glide in formation with several of all fins represented!
I like to consider myself very young too (31) :)
I've had a hard time finding the fin in some of those pics Ted posted :D

Oh, ok that makes more sense. I never noticed the red on the Lunocet in this video...probably because, like chipswim said, there were other red features that, umm, diverted my attention LOL. No, really the order the posts came up on made it seem like it was referring to the video of me and the shoes were the only red thing. And yes, Ted has posted some great ones! Just attached a foot plate to size 40 bike shoes for my wife to use. Maybe some of my next pix and videos will be better! She doesn't have a red swimsuit though...

I'll bet Ted noticed that you noticed his color option! Very likely that your post could bring the color options back. He really does listen and turns inside out to please the monofinning community...... At the moment some pressing distractions......

Following photo taken in his shop last week! ¡!¡!

I agree with Marginatus; Lets work on black and shipped first.

I can see it being hard to optimize production in that shop :)

I'm with you. Black it is. Simpler = Sooner! The people have spoken!
Still like your design Xaid..... Some day!

Freedive Paradise 2014 is happening June 7-9 in Kona HI. I'm expecting to be there. The Free-Gliding video was shot at the same location as where the CWT event happens (Honaunau Bay). You should go there and compete. It is a lot of fun, and you will learn at least as much, if not more, about freediving by competing and talking with the other athletes as you would learn from taking a freediving class. Go early and train with the others. Often, you can actually take a freediving class just before the comp, as they tend to schedule them for when everyone will be around. That is even better still.

Stay longer and we can glide the reefs together! I'm planing to do the fun stuff after the comp.

Feel free to PM me if you want more information.

Neurodoc, if you allow a sugestion, you have your arms making your profile too wide - elbows sticking out....
Arms should straight and tucked in (touching your head just behind or on your ears)...

But others might help in a more eloquent way :)

Marginatus, you are right on there. This was at the end of my swim and my arms and shoulders were not behaving. Really it was my head that was tired; had trouble concentrating and keeping all the parts doing what they should! I know I can do better than that, but usually do not have someone with me to record any...Arms tucked in would definitely help streamlining. I also had some knee bend in glide phase, which doesn't help with the Lunocet as it's already angled properly for me. That is left over from using a Nemo for two years! I also need more neck weight, as I'm swimming with head down and feet up, and float up when I glide. Could glide much farther but I was rising-so the kick is also to drive me back down and not just forward. Videos are such a helpful learning tool for me! I would not normally have posted it...but the Lunocet Pro is so new, I thought a little more fin-porn would be good. Please, always offer your constructive criticism-I can use it. There is always room for improvement.

I hope this doesn't cause folks to think of me as the turd in the punchbowl, but I am a numbers guy and I've been looking at some numbers from various videos posted on the forum.

02/12/14 - LunoClass: 25m. in 25 sec. 1 push + 5 strokes KG (apneadict)

03/26/14 - LunoClass: 25m. in 18 sec. and 1 push + 11 strokes KKG (liljon 1st video)

03/26/14 - LunoClass: 25m. in 16 sec. and 0 push + 15 strokes continuous (liljon 1st video)

04/11/14 - LunoPro: 25 yd. in 23sec and 1 push + 15 strokes KKG (neurodoc)
Linear interpolation for 25m. estimates 25 sec. with 1 push + 17 strokes KKG.

04/11/14 - LunoPro: 25 yd. in 17sec and 1 push + 22 strokes continuous (neurodoc)
Linear interpolation for 25m. estimates 19 sec. with 1 push + 19 strokes continuous.

Obviously, there can be a lot of variables in how a fin is working, but the stats for the Pro are looking worse than for the Classic so far. This is not an encouraging sign, though I'm inclined to think that this has more to do with differences in the swimmers and technique than a devolving of fin performance. However, I think it lends credence to my hypotheses that the Pro is too much like the classic to produce a significant improvement of function. It is basically the same fin, but bigger. I have felt that the result would likely be more of the same performance (i.e. - more thrust along with more induced drag for a net equivalence of performance).

Ron I'm sorry to say, but the current published data is not significant at all. The swimmers are beginners in mono finning. At most we can gather how much time they need to learn the foil and monofinning, and or how tolerable the foil design is for poor technique.

The best data I expect from AA, because he already can do a nice 160m+ dynamic, proof of that he has monofin ability.
To have some real data I would like to have seasoned high level freedivers and finswimmers explore and test the range and abilities of the new tools, including yours. I have seen a video of Natalia Molchanova swim with your product, demonstrating your design (with limited foil training) is right up there with the hyperfin.

In the end what many want to know, can I go further with the new design?

Though efficiency may be king, new features may win our attention and become a determining factor in our choice.
For instance consider: comfort, portability, adjust-ability, durability, compatibility, manoeuvrability.
When you consider these factors in the final choice, the new foil designs are starting to shine.

We can enjoy the foil porn (got to be a great search term to be caught with while on the job), but what we need is a AA's report and videos hopefully including a dynamic pb. At this moment he to me appears the most qualified Pro Lunocet owner.

Hey AA, about your report, can you share with us what you've have been testing, and how you're testing? - You can safe the results for the final report off cause, but I'm just very interested in your review process.

I'm a little confused, maybe I missed something. Why the hush hush on apneaaddict's results with the fin? AA, is your testing done for someone? DB? Ted? or just for knowledge, more like Fondueset? Whats the delay?

Hmmmmmm....... I think it's more entertaining, interesting and honest with Revan in the punchbowl. Clearly you are cut from the same gene pool as the rest of us adding the rare high tech manufacturing gene and the excellent swimmer genes.

Ted has that incredible manufacturing gene too, but as you have pointed out he displays a remarkable willingness to release ideas that are still spawning blue prints. At moments like these it could be mistaken for an underdeveloped sense of self preservation..... Still if some of us are attracted to the Lunocet fins he is our hero.. Even with the consequences of such bold timing.

I truely enjoy my Luno. It's been taking me 13 strokes for 25 yards... More to go fast.... Till this morning. I'm actually pulling enough ideas out of everyone here to craft better swimming. Before today I really couldn't comprehend how you guys reported so few strokes to cross the pool. Was suddenly / finally a highly improved glider and stroker this morning. Managed to cross with a mighty leap off the wall and 3 KKG's. Who knows how long it took. Nearly stopped after the leap and again on completion, but felt like I was really doing something. My shadow looked just like Fondue if he wore a 55 gallon barrel over a full body cast!

I'm thinking there is some really cool stuff about to be revealed and a bunch of it will be in AA's review! I'm guessing the Pro has morphed during and because of his evaluation extending the process.....Definitely going to hang out with you guys to find out!!!!
