On the whole delivery issue I have to say though.

Definitely appreciate the attention to detail on shipped units, but it's just really frustrating not to have any indication whatsoever how far along things are or how many more months the wait may be.

Even a simple 'ok, you're no. 30 in the queue, it should be about a month or two' would be infinitely preferable.

For reference, I originally ordered in January (changed my order to Luno Pro in late February).

LUNOCET DELIVERY ASSURANCE AND THE LAW

Attention Concerned Parties,

The testimony of Lunocet customers and "Chimp's" disclosure (see below) raises a number of serious legal issues.
- Any person knowingly manipulating the United States Postal Services, with dishonest or deceptive intent may be found guilty of a
Federal Felony by the US Postal Inspection Service. Has manipulation of USPS
Tracking numbers occurred?
- It is a Federal Felony for a merchant to charge a credit card for a product if the merchant, prior to purchase, is knowingly unable to
provide the product to
the customer, in accordance with the purchase agreement. A credit card provider may reserve the right to
recover funds in these circumstances. Is this relevant to the experience of Lunocet customers?

"Even if there were a massive shipping department and fulfillment center Ted would not let them send anything less than the very best product he knows he can make...... And here's the delay: it's not the very best he can make today but the very best he just realized he can make tomorrow by applying the new inspiration, knowledge, skills and techniques he just created today.
I'm a million % confident we could move our waiting line to the rejected Lunocet scrap heap.... Start assembling Ted's rejected parts and we'd all be swimming spectacular fins by morning...... BUT he won't let them out of there if they aren't perfect!"

Lunocet/Ted, please give my package to USPS for postage and provide me with a "Shipping Tracking Number", not a "Pre-Shipping Tracking Number", or refund my credit card. This is no longer cool.

Aqua Thylacine.

To be upset with the delays is totally understandable and I surely can relate...
But I think you misunderstood Chipswim words or took some parts literally when he was using figures of speech. English is not my first language though so I might be wrong.

I think things could be handled better... but Ted has explained the tracking number issues before in this thread specifically with Noa's fin in which tracking showed nothing and the fin was almost in Greece.
As a customer, I understand people anxiety with the tracking specially after the long wait and some more info wouldn't hurt.

keep in mind I'm just a guy that has (and continues) read the whole thread

Given some people appear to have received fins from the most recent batch and Ted has been in this business for several years, I doubt there is any conspiracy going on.

Although it could have been mentioned more clearly when ordering that delivery times are expected to be on the order of multiple months (other companies that have similar delivery times - e.g. Elios - are usually fairly upfront about that).

Thanks Marginatus!

I truely enjoy being in touch with swimmers around the world. I do tend to take liberty with the English language. Sorry ¡

Oh my ! I really don't mean to move the problem around to the toothy end of the Thylacine.

I'm going over to the post office to see if they can help track mine. If they can maybe I can do the same for some of those out side the USA. Mine still shows inactive when I look it up but I think it is actually moving. . .

AT i'm confident yours is actually on the way too...Ted stated that directly as done on the way to coffee. I think we all understand the value of a trip like you described!

What I said....I think was misunderstood..... Maybe to clarify..

I had the chance to talk to Ted live one day when a set of flukes came out of the mold he was dissatisfied with. I asked the problem with them and he described the aluminum core moving slightly to one side in the rubber under intense pressure. Being somewhat familiar with the device I thought it would likely still work perfectly for a long time and told him i would gladly swim it if he would send it. He pretty much agreed with the functionality but hated the idea of a flaw he could eliminate going to a customer. Hope that is clearer and not offensive AT. I hope you get yours in time to save the day!

Well, that was an odd turn of events! Since we've seen people receive fins without their tracking number ever "going live" and showing progress, and others not getting the fin yet, I think it's fair to say that tracking numbers are not reliable. If I were Ted, I would not provide anyone with a tracking number after this exchange...there is not anything that can be done to "prove" a package is on its way if the Postal people don't scan in the tracking number correctly.

Right! It will smooth out eventually. I'm at post office now. They are searching....

My number is part of a group manifest not scanned individually in Atlanta Georgia. The post office did show an anticipated delivery date to me of April 21st..... Long past.

Sorry that's not much help at all.

Sorry to come in on this late... Neurodoc, thanks for the heads up. Chipswim, again, thanks for all your help. AT, I don't do the scanning at USPS. If you are too impatient to wait for the results of a trace, which is what I had to do for Divenick, Marginatus, and Noa (all international), I am happy to refund your money immediately.

BTW AT, I really hope that was a typo when you said "Chimp's".

I can vouch for what Ted says to be absolutely true. As has been previously posted on the thread, my fin took quite some time to come and the tracking number did not work for most of the time the fin was traveling. This is a USPS issue, not anything Ted can do about.
Having said that, I completely understand and can relate to your thoughts and feelings. Believe me, I went through it as well. You will get your fin and once you actually have this creation in your hands, you will NOT regret waiting...

Hey Ted,

I sincerely apologise if I have offended you. That was not my intention. I have tried to contact you, but you must be busy. I was just looking for certainty. I would never intentionally insult Chipswim. I apologise for the typo. I don't know if you read my long post on the thread thanking both yourself and Chipswim. I support your products totally. I would be grateful if you could post the products as arranged I hope we can put this behind us Ted. If you would like the footage I mentioned, it would be my pleasure to send it to you.

Kind Regards,

AquaThylacine.

Thank you for the relief AT!

Definitely want to see the pictures!

I think the spelling programs write "Chimp" when Chip was actually typed. If you look back in the thread the same has happened to others. No biggie on that.

Back on the lighter side I took implied permission from AA's Pro Review to make some aerodynamic mods to my Ice racing truck...... Also kept the drill and the glue away from Ted's Lunocets for half a day.... Thought he might need a break after it got hairy there for a while! We are all with you sir! Keep building!!!!!!!

Gentlemen,

I apologise to you all for any offence I have caused. Each of you has been exceptionally gracious

Chipswim, your ice racing track is incredible. What an amazing piece of functional art! Do you know what model and make it was originally ? May I ask what you have under the bonnet ?

Marginitas, thank you for your post Have you had the opportunity to try custom carbon shoes with you Lunocet fin? If so, I would be interested to hear how the shoes have improved your experience of the fin. A friend of mine is the Chief Design Engineer for the Sauber F1 Team. Developing new composite materials is his forte. He/Matt is a keen Freediver and will be fascinated by your post. Who knows what might eventuate

AT

My fin is in customs
I have shimano carbon sole shoes waiting for it...
custom carbon shoes is something on my mind for a while back (even in bi fins context) but I have no access to such shoes or tools to make them. It would be sinful if your friend doesn't try something out (Please let us know if something comes up!)
I can find a way to cast my feet and send to you ASAP

The main advantage would be comfort... although it's more rigid, since it's the shape of the foot, there are no hot spot as pressure is applied evenly and there's less need for strapping.... also the shoe can be very streamlined

check the http://www.simmonscyclingshoes.com some wicked looking shoes ($$$$)

I will try to Skype Matt today. I'm 99% he will be keen Matt is a "cycling fiend" as well. The dude rode his recumbent bike from Seattle to Mexico city! The shoe project would have multiple applications for him.

I have another mate who is a Sports Podiatrist lol If I can't get something happening, I'll need my "head read" I should have more info by the time you get up tomorrow morning!

Reactions: noa and marginatus
Man you have all the connections!!
Would be awesome to get something going specific for our use!!
Ok, I'll drink extra water to wake up earlier

When you Skype Matt, tell him that when he's in Montreal that I'll take him freediving, buy him some CDN beer AND give him my Lunocet... If he can get me in the garage.

Seriously!

Hey! We are on to vastly improved topics! Let's save the Ice truck for a dry spell....
