CUSTOMER SERVICE

I am reluctant to say this, however I hope it helps Lunocet in the long run.
I own a business that involves the manufacture of custom/one off aeronautical products. I am often overrun with orders. In spite of this, I have yet to have a complaint from any of my customers. Why? Customers will be patient if you give them certainty. Customers always know the status of their order and their place in the queue. My industry is small and customers speak to each other about me. I give my customers certainty and in return they give me their patience, trust, money and a good reputation in the community.

I all honesty and with all due respect to Lunocet, I struggle to comprehend how technical difficulties continue to delay production. I have yet to hear of a customer that has found a manufacturing defect in the Lunocet Pro 2014 fins.

Lunocet can you please give me certainty as to where I am in the queue? I placed my order for "Pro" and "Standard" fins on March 4th 2014.

Below is a copy of my last email to Lunocet ...

"Dear Ted,

I hope you're having a fantastic day :)

I'm going on an expedition to photograph/video dolphins in the North West of Australia in 4 weeks. It would be a bumber to go without your products. Besides my own interest, I would like get some photos of me wearing your products whilst swimming with dolphins. That would be of benefit to us both.

Could you please get back to me ASAP as to whether you can get the Pros and/or the Regular Lunocets to me within 3 weeks. I will need to find shoes that fit before I leave :)

Kind Regards,

Aqua Thylacine"

Aqua Thylacine! (Aussie Water Tiger Dog?)

SO want this to work for every one!

Let's see if we can save your trip!!!

Can we get there soon enough?

I just prepared my 2014 Classic Lunocet for morning. I will swim it in the morning so I will know it is perfect! I've swam it daily for a year so it appears to have gone to war, but IMG_20140430_183030090.jpg I honestly believe it to be the best one there is. Shoes are size 12 = about 45 or 46. Can send them too if that is close enough. (Just repaired them tonight)

Send me your address or the address of the resort you are going to and I will have my fin ZAP MAILED to you! Fed Ex Air leaves Scottsbluff Nebraska Airport 7pm sharp tomorrow evening. It will be on the plane!

If my Pro comes in the mail tomorrow I'll send it instead!

Send it back after your trip.... Would love to see the pictures you plan to take!

Chip

Hi Chipswim,

That is an incredibly generous offer :) Very kind of you :) The only difficulty being that I take a size 9 shoe. Also, if your fin got damaged, I would feel terrible. Especially your new ones.

Do you think it might be preferable to discuss the matter with Ted ? That may well be more straight forward for both of us. As of yet I've not received a reply from Lunocet.

Once again thank you for your generosity!

Kindest Regards,

Aqua Thylacine

AT!

I'm confident Ted will be monitoring this site. If he already has it solved he'll let us know. Maybe there isn't enough made yet to catch up to March orders. I can't tell.

In the mean time i'd say let's get something together that will work.

I've given this thing multiple severe beatings. I'd be really impressed if you could break it in a way that it hasn't already been fortified to withstand! No matter we'd make it even tougher!

Off to pool. Won't send shoes. Too large. Will send fin if you post address to send it to. Don't know if there is such a thing as over night to Australia, but I bet we can come close!

Wonderful Ted! Thanks!

Might want to reconsider...... My son "NEPTUNE" wishes I had named him something else!

Thought it was a strong name and no one else was using it...

My 2014 did swim incredibly sweet this morning. Think it was trying to merit a vacation with AT! It would probably think any one but me was a vacation.

We have an expression here: Faster than a Striped Ape! Over there the same expression would be: Faster than a striped, rare, possibly extinct, marsupial, wolf / tiger like creature = Thylacine ! Any way it was fast and smooth.

N. Doc! The 2 washers between the foot Plate and the shoe mod worked perfectly. Knees brushed each other at the perfect instant without even thinking about it.

Did have equipment out to disassemble and box

Remember trees falling through the garage roof in a tornado crushed my previous fin. Had to get the saw to get the fin out!

Hello Chip,

I have to ask, there are a couple of modifications to your Lunocet, may be you've described them in another thread, but I'm curious to know what the eyeleted bungee on the trailing edge of the flukes is for and the patch of what looks like car tire that's been tie-wrapped to the peduncle.

Thanks Marginatus and Philip for the help and the questions. If you read then want to try something or know more I'm happy to answer.

Hmmmmmm..... Has anyone else tried to hot rod their fin? Surely they must get personalized and tweaked. Right?

I want it to act and feel alive..... Then survive. If a project fails to produce. It is discarded..... Actually retired to the archives. The stuff you see on the fin is swam daily because it feels better that way.... To me that is.

Can't help it. Already guessing at .... Contemplating ways to milk the most from the Pro that isn't even here yet.

The two items you asked about..... I call the tire disc my "exo spring" concept. It worked incredibly well since day one to protect and add adjustability to the internal spring. If you look closely you can see I've ramped both ends to cause progressively greater resistance to greater deflection after the fin easily sets a power position. The tire has to climb the ramps you see? I tried it on both sides once but strongly prefer it as it is now. On the back side only it creates a biased flex pattern favoring both the power and reset sides of the stroke with the amount of resistance I want to feel in those significantly different parts of the stroke. It is fantastic non skid and protection for jumping off pool walls.

Very important! Notice in the bottom picture the fin still returns by itself to perfectly dead center position!!!! There is ZERO unresisted movement!!!!

The tightening of the trailing edge wasn't as dramatic an improvement but certainly didn't cost any performance. The idea came from the batons developed as hang gliders improved. I think it gives a little extra pop throughout each stroke. It is a great place to attach a tail light! Ted prefers a more fluid trailing edge... I think for billowing the sail. Without his incredible creations I'd just have a pile of tweaks that didn't add up to a nice ride.

I have only very low tech farm shop capabilities. ........ Powered by a blizzard of ideas ¡

THANK YOU LUNOCET, TED CIAMILLO & CHIMPSWIM

Chimpswim, may I express my sincere thanks for your incredible generosity and kindness. The selflessness and trust you have demonstrated, in a bid to assist a fellow Freediver on the other side of the world, has left me truly humbled :) I cannot express the full extent of my gratitude!

Lunocet (Ted Ciamillo), thanks so much for "coming through" for me. I am completely elated that you, " ... expressed two lunos today. One Pro and one standard." I am looking forward to receiving both fins with great anticipation :) I will endeavour to get the best footage I can of your fins whilst swimming with dolphins, manta rays and sharks in NW Australia. I will do the same when filming humpback whales in Tonga in August and September 2014. I will pass a copy of the footage onto you. Friends in Western Australia are as excited as I am about putting your fins into action :) I wish you only the best with your innovative products "cobber" (Australian colloquialism meaning : a person for whom one has respect) :) I will have a grin from ear to ear when I can show the fins off to Australian cetaceans. Hopefully I won't have to test the speed of Luncet fins against NW saltwater crocodiles LOL :)

Kind Regards,

Aqua Thylacine.

Seems strange that the que line for the Lunocet Pro is not according to date of purchase but some other factor...
i know people who waited longer than me who did not get thers yet and neighter did I. Me and others just got some tracking number that just shows that this number was generated and not that the packet was brought to the post or even shipped at all. we checked our tracking numbers and no change at all since we got them. I suspect they were not even shipped at all to us yet. How many did recieve any Lunocet Pro and when did you buy it? How many did not recive theirs and when was it bought?

IN THE INTERESTS OF CERTAINTY : LUNOCET TRACKING NUMBERS

Attention All Parties Concerned,

Let us resolve this issue once and for all :)

Is this the type of tracking number people are referring to?

Screen Shot 2014-05-02 at 4.58.15 pm.png

It is my tracking number. I received it by email 15 hours ago. This was its status 5 minutes ago. According to this image, my parcel has not been sent.

Lunocet/Ted is this true?

Regards,

Aqua Thylacine.

I'm afraid the local USPS is failing to show the package tracing. - May Ted could have a chat with the USPS' manager, see if they can find a solution to serve Ted and his customers better?
Maybe check out competitive mailing options, that do provide good tracking, speed, insurance and reliability.

Mine arrived to the island today but got selected for customs verification :( that could take a week or more...
On the way to work, I was probably like 30m from the fin (yeah, been to customs a few times). Damn

Exactly the same status for me and other friend in other part of world. Status look exactly like yours and has been the same for weeks now.

If it wasn't scanned at the origin, It will only show something after it's first scan in the destiny country and sometimes only in the destiny country postal service site and not USPS. On my case after arriving in Portugal it got a new tracking number... Have you tried posten.se (most probably you did :) lots of times)

Still in the que 2. I thought the observation that we are ordering from the R&D and engineering departments was quite perceptive and accurate.....

AT's Comment that he hasn't heard of any flawed units being received is also dead on!

Even if there were a massive shipping department and fulfillment center Ted would not let them send anything less than the very best product he knows he can make...... And here's the delay: it's not the very best he can make today but the very best he just realized he can make tomorrow by applying the new inspiration, knowledge, skills and techniques he just created today.

I'm a million % confident we could move our waiting line to the rejected Lunocet scrap heap.... Start assembling Ted's rejected parts and we'd all be swimming spectacular fins by morning...... BUT he won't let them out of there if they aren't perfect!

I'm sure we'll be thrilled when they arrive. ...... Til then ¡!¡!
