AERIS F.10 User Feedback

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Yes, the Beuchat and F.10 are identical, with just minor cosmetic differences (i.e. the Beuchat has no LED on the side). You can compare both of them here:

APNEA.cz - Aeris F.10

They also suffered form the same problems, but Beuchat claims the problem was in fact mechanical - improper contact in the battery compartment, especially at thinner batteries. And allegedly it was fixed with some simple additional padding, keeping the battery better in place, and in safe contact. So if anyone from you still suffers from accidental problems, then first of all verify that you have the right battery type (these button batteries come in several thicknesses), and then try padding the battery somehow so that it has a safe contact on both poles.

As for the firmware, the v1C is available online and is safe of bugs, so if you buy the cable too (which I highly recommend anyway), then even if you manage to buy a piece from an old stock, you can upgrade it yourself.

All Homage Trux - amazing!!

The F10 v2 will come with pc interface cable.

HI, Freespirit. I am currently beta testing the F.10 v2.0 - my F10 v1 continues to work flawlessly - but the V2 has a few major advantages. I recommend you wait until the V2 is available - it it undergoing very thorough testing and is pretty sweet.

I REEEEALLY would like to konw this features!! Please tell us!

It's working really well - great for pool laps with the 2 ft activation depth.

Free mode runs for 12 hours - not two - but its fine. Resets the lap/dive count every day.

Wish I'd known that a couple of weeks ago!!

My first F10 was stolen a couple of months ago - so if anyone comes across an F10 serial number 229, it's mine!!

I just got another one (SR2040 or something like that, so they're obviously selling a few!) have tested it in the water and transferring the data, etc, etc - so far everything seems fine!

It came with the 1d upgrade (freespirit, I just sent an email to the contacts of the site I bought it from, asking what version it had, and they replied the next day and I bought it the day after!).

I also finally upgraded my mask that was sh*tting me to tears... I've now got a Cressi Matrix, which I'm loving!!

Unfortunately now, winter is coming......

Cheers all!

Winter in Brazil? - well you better get you're 7mm suit ready, hot chocolate, pasta meals, and fire up the sauna! LOL :)

Nice to hear the new units work much better. :)

roflHahahaha... you're right Kars, I use the term very loosely!! :)

But nah, it's all about the water vis... where I am (Paraíba) has a lot of wind during "winter", and combined with rain and the big tides it makes a mess of the water (which as you guessed stays the temperature of a warm bath - my 3.5mm gets too hot!).

cheers! :friday

I like the idea of setting depth for pool... someone suggested that when the F10 first came out. Smart guy! :)

I'm trying to find the latest software for the F10. I can't see it on the Aeris site... I know its late and all but dang...

The latest version I know of (1D) is for some reason not available online, but the version 1C (which allegedly works fine) was posted earlier in this thread (I believe), or you can find the link at the F.10 computer in the comparative review at APNEA.cz - Freediving Computers

Thanks trux. Yeah, I found the broken link, that was my issue :). I'll keep looking. Thanks bro.

I can confirm that 1c works great. My f.10v1 has been rock solid.

The V2 testing is going well. I'm in the pool almost daily and its been a great lap counter as well as generally being a little smoother to work with.

There is also a down-timer now - which is a great training tool.

I have to say that I was tough to convert to the F.10 after my suunto mosquito, but I have been competing and training with it for 3 weeks now and I am very impressed. The three alarms are a killer! Its so easy to miss alarms in freediving that I really use all: one for mouth-fill, one 5 to 7m from plate and one 2M (anti-crash!).

The dive logs also download nicely to a PC. I have been using the Beta V2 version, and the pool use feature (allowing a 0.6m activation depth) will be great when I get back home too.

++ happy camper

Just a V2 update - I've got 942 dives and pool laps on mine and it's been awesome! Really a big help at the pool where the shallow activation depth lets me count laps and times. (allowing about a second for activation).

Update: I still have not been taken care of by Aeris/Oceanic and still have not heard a peep from them.

I also note that 3 of the 4 bolts holding the back of the watch on has corroded completely but it still appears to be watertight.

Blesum - last I heard Mako was shipping you a new one - is this that one? Also, How and when did you last contact Aeris?
email me your contact info - and list of what's up with the watch and I'll try to facilitate for you.

like Fondue says: my v2 has tons of dives on it and is worn daily since March of this year. I have done spearing, dyn, dnf, cwt, cnf and FIM in it, pool and fresh water, and it has not missed a beat.

IMHO the hands-down-coolest thing is the DSD, activation depth feature, that can be set for 60cm in pool use. It times all my pool dynamics perfectly, even with in the 1m deep pool i train in. The surface timer gives me an exact point to dive again when doing exercises that require certain recovery periods.

Happy camper
