AERIS F.10 User Feedback

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Hi ptoot

When I bought my F10 it came with firmware 1C. It was logging date but not time; at least not in data downloaded to the dive manager.
Had it send to Oceanic in Germany and it came back with 1C firmware. Both date and tine is now downloaded to the dive manager.

The DIY firmware update on Oceanics website is 1C by the way. Wrote them in hope that they will make the 1D accessible as well.

Best regards
H!

Thank you Herup.
Is the date also mentioned in the logbook on the watch itself?

Mine logs date and time and has the 1c firmware - possibly dive manager version? I believe the watch has stored Date and Time right along - I've always seen it even with 1b or a or whatever it was.

It does not display D/T on the watch.

Fondue, you may be right about the divemanager version; dont remember when and if i upgraded.
Ptoot, the manual describe date and time as downloadeable (p12/p66 in manual) but only time is visible on the log screen 2 in the dive computer (manual p43).

Best regards
H!

guys and what about the software? not sure if maybe you mentioned it but I'm really having a hard time with it, maybe I need to spend more time in it but doesn't seem very useful so far...I read that the company is awared of this and they're working hard on improving it.....other than that must agree this watch is awesome!!!!

Hi all

Regarding the firmware upgrades, I got a fast respons from Oceanic Germany. Here is the list of changes in 1C and 1D:

"1C: Fixed the intermittent display of Low Battery Icon
1D: Fixed the dive number after midnight"

BTW, 1D is apparently not gonna be available for self upgrade. Oceanic wrote that it only comes with new computers...

Best regards
H!

Hi Guys,

does anyone know how to upgrade the r.1D firmware in the F10? Shall the computer be sent to the assistance center? Is the operation covered by the warranty, and so free of charge?

Thanks a lot.
Cheers,
-Maurizio

I updated to r1c and it looks good so far
would like to have the fix for the dives too
it was quite easy to upgrade don't understand why they do not give it to us

Hi

I just had my F10 upgraded a few months ago firmware and shim.

I replaced the battery today and after leaving the new battery out for 10 or so minute hoping the memory would wipe i found that all my data was still there.

Any ideas on how to wipe it? The reason is I have a PB on it that I never did, it was the pressure depth test that was done when my watch was upgraded with the new shim.

i just recieved my new F.10 and i'm quiet happy with it till now :) it came with r1D and the only "bug" i found until now is that the time get's off pretty fast. i adjusted the time and like 2 hours later the time my F.10 was showing was off 2 seconds to my normal watch already.

Does anyone have a link for the firmware version 1D (or later)? Or does anyone have it in a file that he could share?

Hi Trux

Apparently 1D is not gonna be available for self update according to Oceanic Germany.
(Please se my post from Jan 10th)

Best regards
H!

That's why people complaining their service. I don't see any reason not publishing it for user self update, unless there are hidden issues.

depends on how deep the changes affect the os of the watch. if there are changes made deep in the system it's safer to send the watch to them and let them do the update instead of letting people brick their watch

Hi folks, a few questions... I`m yet to decide myself between aeris f.10 and the beuchat ( as i can find the latter a bit cheaper in Portugal and it is very difficult to find the aeris around here - even if i was really looking towards the f.10...)... 1- How do i know, when buying probably online, if the f.10 that i`m buying is 1d updated? 2- Is there any difference between these two computers (does the beuchat have the same flaws like the f.10 - is the beucht 1d upadated...?) 3- Where can i find it beyond scubastore? (please feel free to move to another thread if this isn`t the best on these questions). Thanx, Freespirit

HI, Freespirit. I am currently beta testing the F.10 v2.0 - my F10 v1 continues to work flawlessly - but the V2 has a few major advantages. I recommend you wait until the V2 is available - it it undergoing very thorough testing and is pretty sweet.
