AERIS F.10 User Feedback

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I have one great idea:

Just make a tiny, little device with alarms. For me just the interval alarm is enough, i have my F.10 set on alarm every 10m, all other off.

Thats when it hit me, why have all the other stuff in there when i can manage with just this alarm? A micro device with vibration too - i would buy it instantly.

I have my F.10 in my hood, i can't hear the damn thing otherwise. The light is useless for me, who is using it anyway?

Yes, i will make the settings via a PC, enough.

It's true - get beyond a 3mm suit and you can't hear any of them. I like the hood idea. I hardly ever look at my gauge when I'm diving - I tested the light in Dean's Blue Hole - it works. Handy for checking surface intervals during night dives though.

I have seen another freediver that puts the watch in the hood... How do you compare the F10 to a D4? Your humble opinion...

I'm only using the 10m interval alarm. Since the D4 doesn't have it - it simply sux in my opinion. : )

No, its a good watch, more scuba then freediving thou.

IMHO the D4 is a very nice looking and capable freedive watch. But the above mentioned F10 feature is just too good for those who train a lot in pools. The F10 is also cheaper. Even if they were the same price, due to my positive experience with the F10, I would buy the F10 again.

And the Aeris is only for freediving,
doesn't have an scuba mode right?

Jouskari - does it start recording dives at that depth or just go into dive mode?

All Suunto's (D3, Mosquito, D4,...) have the activation depth of 40cm and start recording the dives, but discard ones that are too short (very short dips). They were so far the best option for pool trainings.

I train in the same lane with my buddy who uses a D4, his does not work at all, or very randomly measures the dive time. The F10 does it spot on every time, DNF or DYN. Our pool goes about 90cm to 150cm depth.

Blesum - I've spoken with Aeris and they are very interested in helping. If you can please let me know what problems you are having with the gauge, when and where you got it - etc.

Hi

I just received my Aeris F.10 v.2 today. I read the manual and tried to use all the functions as described in them manual to see if everything works. And it did.
Now, some hours later, when I try to enter FREE mode the display does only show 0 in every field:

0000
0000000
0000

Then instantly it switches back to watch mode. (pressing the button even longer does not help)

Does anyone know what the problem could be?

EDIT:
Well, it works again. I set an alarm (in watch mode) because I got bored and after the alarm went off, I was able to enter FREE mode again. No Idea...

EDIT 2:
The same problem occured again, this time setting an alarm didn`t work.

Again, I have no connection to Aeris, other than having bought a v1, and having received, without cost, a prototype V2 on competing at Vertical Blue this year, but my watch still, 6 months later, is rock solid. It has not left my wrist since March, I am wearing it now, I spear and go to the pool in it 3 x per week.

Takis: I have never seen that, you must have a bad watch. Change in under guarantee if you can.

Yeah, thats what I will try to do if the problem can`t be solved. Unfortunately this will not be possible before I go to greece in about two weeks for 5 weeks : (

Some club members picked up v2 F10s, but last night one activated on the surface and by the end of the session he was up to a 35 minute breath-hold on the watch and the surface was apparently 0.9m deep.

These are pretty hard to recommend.

Not to stump for Aeris - but once again - both my F10s are working perfectly after thousands of dives. I use my V2 7 days a week. My V1 is a loaner.

Chrismar - the risk with the 2 foot activation depth is that barometric pressure can theoretically trigger it. The Watch in question may have a calibration problem - they should contact Aeris for a new one while it is still under warranty.

You too Takis - I've not seen that, nor the problem Chrismar describes on any of the 6 f.10 v2s I beta tested.
