They are on the line just after the beer, Greg. No, today no pasta, I hope at least!

After Kerian it was all white cards, except for Herbert, who calculated that he didn't need to bring up the tag to get into the finals.
So finalists are:
1. William Trubridge 85
2. William Winram 80
3. Alexey Molchanov 76
4. Herbert Nitsch 74 (no tag = 73)
5. Mourgan Bourc'his 73
6. Guillaume Nery 73
7. Christian Maldame 73

Congrats to the finalists ( yayy Will!)
Cant wait for the next round!

Damn...Kerians first ever blackout!

Wow that is great stuff. So happy we where wrong with the blakouts. Just 2.

That will be a smoking final !!!!!!!!!!!

I guess Will were right about there being no "game theory", just a lot of good "players". Congrats to everyone with a great qualification. Only two BO's, and none among the 7 deepest. Nice to have 7 for the final, and probably the seven best cnf divers present (except for Martin Stepanek, perhaps). What happens if two divers achieve the same depth in the final? Will they share the same place on the podium or will the qualification dive count for something in the finals?

Actually there are three blackouts - EDIT: ah no, you are right, the first was DQ

Are you sure? With Hibbs and Møller it says BO, not with Kitahara - only that he is DQ. It might be other reasons for DQ than BO.

Yes, I saw my mistake immediately after posting and edited my post just seconds after. Sorry for the confusion.

The rankings are now up with the 7 male finalists and 6 female finalists listed.

Well, done guys. Great attempt Kerian!

So will the Wills hold on to the top 2 spots in the final..... or will they face a challenge from people higher up in the alphabet. ;)

Congrats to everybody. Jure! Nice dive, unbelievable! And i'm so sorry Jarmila. Let's focus on CWT.

So many freedivers are close to each other in depth and distances and all want to make the final. There are more candidates for the finals than there are spots available.

To get to the finals you will have to do close to a PB or even more.
A "Do or Die" mentality, the
The reward for getting at the finals
You have the basic ingredients for a high ratio of BO's.
I predict it will be even worse at future events with a final system .
Your analyzis lack a lot, well its wrong.

1. All except one (or two) that wanted to get to the final made it. Everybody "knew" it would take around 74. Kerian most likey had some hopes that a BO above him would bring him to a final as maybe did Jure.
2. As far as I know nobody in the final did a PB to get there.
3. Two Bo´s, wheres the do or die mantality? The ingrediants you are speculating about where not there.
4. Most of us where not there to make any final. We where there for doing national records (many of us going for scandinavian records) and many might have had an idea of being among top 10 or top 15.
5. I predict no changes in strategies, just the same old mix of strategies and attitudes.

Sorry Arjen, just had to rub it in.

... Not only Swedish record holder for 11 glorius minutes, also Scandinavian record holder :)
Now it has all fallen into the darknes of lost memories of a time when our days were great and men where noble, and there where some decency in the world.

Gutted for Kathryn and Kerian, but that's still a huge effort from Kerian given he doesn't really have any background in CNF. Stunned at that nomination, and by the fact he made it to the baseplate!
