God's Pocket Ultramarathon Spearfetching Ultra-eating Competition
Contests Will Swim 17km In Icy Open Ocean Water From Telegraph Cove To God's Pocket On Hurst Isle, Where They Will Spear And Net As Many Fish As Possible. They Will Then Swim Back To Telegraph Cove, And Immediately Get Out Of The Water And Have Their Fish Weighed. Contestants Must Return In Less Than 19 Hours. They Will Then Barbeque Their Fish And Eat As Many As Possible Prior To The 20 Hour Mark. The Greatest Quantity Of Fish Caught And Eaten Within The 20 Hour Time Limit Will Be The Winner. Fins, Wetsuits, Masks Or Other Aids Are Not Allowed. The Only Allowable Equipment Is A Wooden Polespear And A Mesh Bag. Being Captured And Prosecuted For Spearfishing By The Staff At God's Pocket Resort Is Grounds For Disqualification. For The Bbq, No Firestarting Aids Are Allowed. Failure To Start The Barbeque Is Grounds For Disqualification. Fish May Not Be Eaten Raw.
The Port Hardy Freediving Corporation Will Not Be Held Responsible For Legal Penalties Incurred By Spearfishing At The God's Pocket Resort, Nor Will The Corporation Be Held Liable For Death Or Injury By Hypoxia, Hypothermia, Barotrauma, Boat Collisions, Drowning, Dismemberment, Or Shark Attack. All Contestants Must Provide A Last Will And Testament, No Exceptions, As Well As A Registration Fee Of $5500 To Cover Possible Medical Or Funeral Costs. The Competition 1st Prize Is $1000. In The Case Of Death The Prize Is Reduced To $500 Split Amongst Next Of Kin.
