Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
The area from Glen Cairn to Sunnycove used to be a popular spearfishing and rod fishing spot, it has some very deep gullys, and some really big caves, which makes it especially good for roman and even some yellowtail have been taken there. It has been abandoned by most spearos because it lies right on the path that the Great whites patrol. There have been a few surf ski's attacked in that area. It's quite notorius. Although Faiz and some friends dived there recently, they came back empty handed, although that might of been due to bad conditions.

I wouldnt mind trying the spot north of the clan stewart with you some time. I'm taking the next week off so, if you free for a dive let me know.

I figured there might be be lots of kreef there and wanted to recon it for next season.

Sigh,... I wish we could find a spot on the false bay side that actually had kreef, it would save so much petrol and driving time.

Cool! I hope it has BOs and shark attacks too!

P.S. Are you and Paul still going to the pool? I've been a couple of times but no one was there so I've stopped (not too keen on a BO and being rescued by a German tourist).

Hey John sorry I'm only going online so late, but let me know when you would like to meet up for that dive 2morrow. I was thinking about 8:30-9ish, not sure how much of an early riser you are . We can meet at your place and leave from there.

Hey Lenny, sorry we missed you on Friday. We dived just off Sunnycove and had reasonable viz. Not much there as far as fish go, but at long last I found the elusive False Bay kreef! There were lots of small ones, but they got bigger as we swam towards the Glen Cairn side. Next dive will be Glen Cairn going round towards Fishhoek!

You are determined to meet a GW, arent you?

Sorry about Friday, my missus and I had a disagreement, so it looked as if diving was out for the day. But then she came to her senses and we went together down to Millers. The viz was good, absolutely no fish but i think that was because I dived in at 12am! There was a huge yellowtail run on a 1km out to sea. What i wouldnt have done for a boat then!:head Anyways so a bought 2 nice fish off one of the boats. R50 a fish, probally about 5-6kgs each, what a bargain! I will post pictures sometime. So you must come round for a fish braai sometime, it's long overdue

I just got off the phone with the lady at Coral wetsuits. She said Trevor set a new record in Durban last week. Anyone know anything more about this?

We really need a decent SA freediving website

WOW! Well done Trevor!

Reece, you should post some of those links on the Spearo board.

Making a site for SA spearo's easy as pie, getting more than 10 spearo's to join .... nearly impossible

Reactions: spaghetti

normally its a case of the ankles not being strong enough to complete the follow through on the stroke, since you seem to dive a lot, i assume your ankles are strong enough, so yes get a more flexible set of finns when you can afford too. In the meantime try and take strain of the ankle by forcing the stroke with your legs a bit stiffer than normal.

Abusing the power of the forum huh lol, If you want some free advertising, I run a site for the fun of it www.childminder.co.za, (and no comments about how i need a life) send me a banner and ill stick it up for you.

Hola CT spearo's

Am selling a Shane Breedt /Freedivers gun, immaculate condition, hardly used, I think it's about a 1.2 m. Asking R600.
