If there no surf over the weekend will be checking it out! Any spots good for a newbee to spearfishing??

Whitsand Bay is horrendous, 1m vis. Can't see the end of the gun. Will try again in a couple weeks, although the swell is back next week briefly so can't see that doing much good!

Got in South east cornwall this morning to very nice vis 6m+ though started clouding up with the easterlies over the morning.

Didn't see any silver but had a sweet dive despite missing a handsome flounder due to my sheer incompetence! Good to see the weed beds are largely intact in the area after the rough winter

Had an amazing dolphin show end of last week off Gwenver. Have never seen such a playful pod of dolphins, they put on a full show. Was just gutted to be in my Yak and not in the water. Water was clear enough to prompt me to order some new rubbers. Not long now.

Hi! Have just been walking to Penberth Cove, there is a sign that says 'not skin diving' but a local told me that there are no problems to spearfish there! Have you got any local information? Cheers!

If its lesser known spot info then maybe that's a lesser evil if its a closed group than this larger open forum. Just remember the floodgates are opening on spearfishing in the UK, it wont take long for numbers of new spearos to start hammering your own favourites over the coming years. Lets hope Cornwall spearos keep their hard learned spot info on the down low so we dont have a french coastline situation in 20 years time with fish skittish as hell and inshore spots quiet.

I appreciate the secrecy! Coming from the Mediterranean were some time you have to queue to enter in the water! The secrecy is important now even more whith plenty of UK spearfishing videos on YouTube and the increse in number of spearos! My question was about some local legislation of a spot already seen! :)
