DeeperBlue.com Announce 2015 UK Member Meet

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Maybe be unorthodox and probably a little strange but I am keen for a two handled gun, single spear, that can be fired from the mid and rear handle. Was just asking Popgun Pete about potential modifications to a pneumatic, but nowhere near as classy as teak!
aaah but, you would be sooooo jealous watching @grantl packing it into his car to take home ;)
interesting idea...

with my sensible head on, would love an elegant, classy, slim line open track or ET, 100cm mid handle teak gun. Tapered end to the barrel and slim as pos.

I have not had much joy building roller guns due to the heavy nose not really suiting our slim style of guns.
If it were a high mass thick barrel gun then yes the roller design is great but for a fast tracking short range gun I can't seem to get a good balance!
Twin handles sounds great but I think the rear handle should to be removable or even better would be an adjustable handle that could be slid up or down the barrel. However that would require metal working skills I don't have and would cost to much to get someone else to make up. I will give that idea some more though.....

I am not sure what direction this will go but I have laminated up a few pieces of wood!
Two pieces of teak, a bit of mahogany in the centre & a piece of oak on top, the oak & mahogany are quarter sawn & the teak is flat sawn so there should be a nice contrast of grain.
At the moment I am just thinking about a basic gun with an open track & a forward set handle but... with some pretty wood & a nice sweepy shape....
I don't have a workshop anymore (rent went up to much) so I am building at home in my shed & with basic hand tools.

Think any one of us would be honoured to own one of your master pieces Martyn .So feel free to build what ever inspires you!

One metre long with handle around .75 from muzzle ... ish
To be honest I just made up the blank because I had a few free days, back to work tomo but at least it is a start.

PS I am having all sorts of problems with my photo bucket on this and other forums, I now have spear guns on a guitar forum and guitars on this forum!! I just changed them around but they have gone back in reverse again, I think something has hacked my albums!!

I made some prototype rope rings for my quoit game at my wedding. It's not related to the meet or spearguns, but I'm quite pleased with them.

Why don't you just upload the photos here directly @foxfish?
