Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Have a good un' Gaz, as you say hopefully the fish will be back in force by the time you return.

Well took another trip down today even though the wind was looking like it was going to f**k everything up, and it did. The only place that was dive able was Chesil Cove, and that was flat calm with half decent vis.
Twas cold getting changed and if though there was little too no chance of even seeing a fish let alone shooting one change we did, didn’t even bother to take my gun in, just got in for a swim and a dive.
Glad I did as it was great, no boat noise, no waves down your snorkel, no scuba divers not even to much tide and as i got in without even a float there was no drag from anything, without doubt the most relaxing dive I’ve had for a long time, dropping and just looking was a real treat. Spotted a fair size crab and a good sized shoal of sandeels, water temp was showing 8 degrees on the D3 at 10+ meters so it’s starting to warm up a bit, just need the wind to ease off and it’ll be fish time!!:):)

Top man!

I spent the day sorting the veg plot. Managed a tub of first early new potato's (?!) and a bag of enormous parsnips, all found while digging over two of the beds - result! Smashing day too - really warm here. Your D3 is enthusiastic too Podge - 10 degrees is a result for this time of year. Did you see a crayon wielding fair weather spearo with a particularly large dog at any point?!

Have a good week

Ben it was 8 degrees mate at 10+ meters, you sure that’s veg you’re growing and not some sort of special weeds??
No crayon wielding helmet wearing types today, just me, Tim and his mate Adam, although there was a bloke that tried to shout something as we were getting out but I couldn’t hear him and he might of had a dog???? Or do you mean a certain deep sea tech diver chap with a large helmet (oww err mrs’s)? If so then no didn’t see him either?
As for have a good week, even if i win the lottery it ain't gona be as good a week as you're going to have!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D:D:friday:friday

Hehe - I may learn to read one day! 8 degees is still not too anti-social. Can't wait to get in again but things will be on hold for a month or three. At the risk of turning this into the Dorset gardening thread, check out the parsnip haul from Sunday. Left overs from the last crop which have been turned into spicy parsnip soup and sent to the freezer. Found a large bass lurking in the bottom of the freezer too, guess what's for dinner tomorrow!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like a roast dinner after seeing those parsnips!!!

I must admit, I was a little disapointed to read that they had been made into soup.

Fair play chaps, don't be dissssappppointed Gaz (!!) - I must admit we're a little roasted out after the winter so we're doing something different with what is left. Spicy parsnip soup comes highly recommended, especially as it's a one handed meal that can be eaten while feeding babies!

Hi,
Does anyone know what conditions are there around Portland? I would like to do my first dives of new season tommorow. It's 80 miles (one way) from my place so I'll be very grateful for any info.:)

Spicy parsnip soup, no thanks I would rather have fresh bass!! ;)

Excellent dive this afternoon in the Purbecks, slowly through some kelp and there's a 3lb bass waiting for me - well chuffed and no roe in it...

Ladies & Gentlemen the season has started :friday

vis 3-4 metres, temp 10c

I can confirm Fluffchuckers statement of Bass as a fact.:):)
Me and the other John had a good look around another spot and came up with no fish but managed a few shells.
Got to be honest though, I’d sooner have fish than shells.
Nice one John as ever you’re still the best pointer that spring is on the way.:)
I bet that was the best tasting Bass you’ll eat all year!!!:friday
There's a few Bank Holidays coming up mate so a catch up ought to be on the cards?

'Ere! Wasson then me old Dorrseyyttt cake munching buddies!
Nice one as always Featherflicker!

Today we will mostly be having babies! Talking of all things Dorset, don't forget the great Powerstock cider festival in April - it is legendary (hic!)
