Ryan same for me: house, dog, boat and know baby....... my other winter project has been the collection of spear tokens to make sure I get to use the boat and new rack!!

Ben you gonna be a very busy boy this spring! Best wishes to you and your good lady.

regards Kev

PS Podge looks like you had a good night:t

How do you chaps use the dive hunter/reef inflatables? do you lean on them to swim faster or is it more of a hold-all for your gear?
How fast can you swim with it?

I find that I'm faster in water than on top. Great for storage, safety and resting up.

I have never seen anyone looking as smug as you between those two lovely ladies - you lucky b***d!!

Okay project almost complete, sewn in 6 D-rings and the old bergen shoulder straps. Made the flag from old tent poles and the flag came courtesy of Apnea.co.uk at a very reasonable price.

Just need to get her out on the water hopefully soon for a set-up trial, need to try some target practice too.

Lets hope for some vis soon - any reports for the harbour would be welcome...

Cheers

Ryan

Nice looking bit of kit. You going to add some straps for a spare gun? How heavy is she?

Lovely - you know you are going to die on that thing, don't you?

You would probably be safer on one of these:

3.5 kilos unladen so probably 4 with kit on.

Yeah I still need to put some thought into that, I have a few solutions up my sleeve though...

Oh and welcome to the thread mate!

Nice work. I have ordered a Seatec Snake 80 from Spearo Dave and just waiting for him to get some in stock. Price has certainly gone up with the increase of the euro. £190 with postage.

Make sure you have extra strong straps on your new buoy as I sure as hell can't afford to buy anther one of these!!!

Let me know when you are going out, I am really keen on getting cold.

Good guns mate.

Looking at going for a daytime dive on Monday mate...

Had a night time swim with Mr G last night. It was warmer out than in and even my poor D3 was shivering! That said, plenty of fish seen in a mediocre vis.

Great to be back in the water too! Thanks for dragging me out John.

Sounds encouraging! What fish were seen? Oh and what was the water temp please?

Thinking of going Monday early evening now instead of day...

Cheers

Any night I end up in McD's is a good night!!!

Ryan: Sand smelt, pollack, wrasse, diddy flatties, eels and crabs - water temp must have been around 5c - vis very milky from all the rain and guess will be worse after tonights rain... Good luck and take something to warm you afterwards....

Only 5c might give it a miss until we have some decent vis and the temp has warmed little then!

Thanks for the info though.

Little help needed.

After being landlocked since Christmas it all got too much and after a few texts from Bryn down the coast we went.
Lovely morning, almost perfect for a swim and after meeting up with Bryn and admiring his new dive aide away I went, finned for what seemed like an age before we found some deeper water to start the hunt for tea and after a small tow on out bit further from a mad man on the biggest dive hunter I’ve ever seen;):) I started to find a few odd morsels of food.
Water temp was a balmy 6 degrees and the vis was up to 3 or 4 meters in places and even better once you got to the bottom.
Took about an hour and a half to get enough for a feed this evening but thanks to the mad man and his new ship found enough I did.
Great to be back in the sea after far too long on dry land.
Spring is on the way fellas.
Thanks for the coffee Bryn, tis always a pleasure.:):)

That's me away again for another six weeks. Should be back again around mid-April, around the time that the fish start turning up in force (with a bit of luck). Hopefully my ankle will have improved by then.

I occasionally get access to the Internet, so I'll be watching keenly for the first catches to come in - good luck everyone, with the beginning of your season!
