Hi Scott, thanks for that mate; very useful to see pics of other yak set-ups. Will hopefully have mine set-up better for next season.Think I'll need to add a few more straps and I like the idea of a box on the back; at present I have a cargo net, but I found that the fish like to fall out of that!

Nice one Nobby,,so what you getting for Xmas mate? or do you get all your presents doubled up as it's so close to your birthday?
I I'm on for some carbon fins thanks to our phone conversation earlier (my missus overheard us) :)

Nice 1 nobby is that the caranx??? I've got one with single 20mm band, and that's pretty powerful so yours must be like a underwater sniper rifle lol

Wanted to have a go at my kayak too; does anyone here have any useful tips on a kayak set up for spearos???? mines a 2+1 person SOT (2 adults + 1 child sit on top).

Lee, here's my setup:

The plastic pipe is my attachment and is just about buoyant; i use the tape at 5m intervals too :) I think i do things a little differently to some others, in that i tend to stay tethered and drift/swim towing the yak, which works for me. Other people prefer to anchor the yak and swim free. I wear the fins, weights, etc whilst paddling.

The battery is kept in a watertight container:

Dont forget you can still use a stringer for the fish!

I see Podge and Gloworm still insist on holding hands roflroflroflrofl

Scott if I didn’t hold him up he’d fall over, I mean look at the state of him, the only thing missing is his crash helmet and his box of crayons.roflroflrofl

Looking good mate, a tad more sophisticated than my setup. Is that a GPS system? if so would you reccomend one?

Yeah, I tend to tether myself to the yak too, overwise I tend to keep jumping out every 2 mins when I paddle over a decent looking spot. So the yak becomes redundant really as I end up using it just as a really big and heavy float to drag with me.

I bought an Xtar D06 - it is a XML-T6 dive torch, officially rated at up to 900 lumens. It's a bit like holding a full-beam headlight in your hand. Dimmable too. It runs off a single lithium 18650 battery and lasts around 2 hours or so. Bloomin' great.

I can thoroughly recommend the seller I bought it from. He is to be found on ebay here: big f d d | eBay

I also bought myself a nice 3mm titanium undervest, so I'm ready for the winter flattie season! Anybody up for some night dives?...
