Dive last night with Tom:
Went fluff chucking over sunset and got myself 6 makeral. Darkness fell, suited up and jumped I the harbour as chesil had a very big swell and no vis. Vis in harbour was 2-3 meters and 4 in places.
Started of in our usual spot only to be me by the usual sea trout and millions of bait fish and a fair size cuttlefish; I took the cuttlefish as I have a BBQ tonight, but left the smaller ones.
Decided to swim over to a new bay at 11pm; on our way over I got collered by the Olympic officials; who were actually very polite "hello mate, we're security for the Olympics, are you fishing?" I replied and they asked for me to hold up my speargun, we had a friendly chat about bass or "sea bass" as they put it then they wished me good luck and off we went

.
Arrived at the new shallow bay and saw 2 bass, I miss and Tom hits one for dinner and he gets a cuttlefish. We swim on and I see some pout over a sand patch with big silver shadows just on the dye of vis, so I'm careful not to shine the light on them and slowly glide towards the fattest shape; mindful to keep the silver just on the edge of the beam. I get close enough for a shot, line up then shine the torch on him and bang! A lovely bass over 4lb, then promptly hit another smaller one just under 2lb. Tom also has similar success. I finish of by picking up a jumbo 5lb spidey.
I'll post some pics when I get to my PC; iPhone won't allow.
