Dorset spearfishing 2014

First double of the year..

Had a day off today :) set the alarm for 6am in the water by 7:30..swam out to a remote set of rocks, vis was 1.5m...so I pushed in around the corner to be met by the brunt of a SW gale, but the vis was better 3m?
strong tide rips abd large swell had me searching close in to the cliff in kelp beds in 2m of water....
cruising on the edge of the vis was a large silver shape of a bass!! I steadily swam around and in front within range of my 90cm and waiting...boom! clean shot dead center just behind gill plate.

Yeah big time. Been down to 10m, pretty much to just touch the bottom, then came back up. Scared the shit outa me!

Was thinking of getting out around hengistbury tomorrow morning but I reckon vis will be gash

What, only one! Serious fish that. Well done. I reckon I could eat that it one sitting though:D

If I can get there yeah. Picking up my van on tuesday so will see when I'm done. Dead keen to get down cos haven't been since the intro. Sounds like it was a mega session!
