Swanage? 6m? Every time it seem to go its 1-2. I don't count around the pier & life boat ramp as that always seem fairly decent.

Been in Mid Devon (Tiverton) a year or so, still looking for good working spots. Popped into Beer today, vis 3-4 bit milky, breath holds aren't working right this year, assuming its mainly in my head, missed a sitter mullet saw another half dozen, no sizeable pollack and not even a hint of a bass. Any chance anyone could point me in the direction of some interesting spots, don't mind a bit of a walk, or a drive. Thanks

Want to try some new spots between Poole and Portland, anyone fancy helping me out.
Never tried Portland but wouldn't really know where to start.

Does anything sizeable come in at swanage? I went there a couple times last year but didn't see anything worth grabbing. Possibly wrong time of day? I'm assuming low tide is best?

Hi,
From Swanage Bay to Chesil Beach - since 2006 my favourite part of coast. Spent over 2000 hrs diving and spearfishing there. Probably I can be helpful: 0778393118

I was out around hengistbury head and in and around the groynes today. Vis was roughly 1m and milky everywhere I went. How's the vis anywhere else?

The view to Portland from 2500ft above my house (in Haselbury Plucknett) at 6am today. Not quite close enough to check the viz!

Hi.
I was wondering if any one can give me any info about spearfishing the weymouth break water. I keep on seeing on old posts on different forums that you need a licence to spearfish near the breakwater but no one saying how to get it!! i found the fishing licence for the harbour and the diving licence but can't see spearfishing anywhere.
Also looking for any other good locations for people fairly new to spear fishing in and around that area.

Apologies in advance if any of this has already been covered in this thread.

sorry to disappoint, but spearfishing within 50m (I think) is prohibited and is strictly policed by the very keen harbour master. the whole docks area are also an absolute no go.

I take it your talking about portland harbour breakwaters?
