easiest way to change location. or you have to get right time in your place. fish everywhere ;) i just can't find big ones as someone does. probably because i'm not going quite often so i am less experienced with good location and right time

Nice catch, liking the lobby.
Looks like you have a new suit on, probably a good idea in the broad day light as one with the piscean is a bit obscene to the public. So that wasn't you out at the southern end of Durelstion yesterday evening, probably came from around the headland on the tide from the Whim.

Was that you in Studland the other night on the super moon that stealthily passed us by(not stealthily enough), I think Saturday night/Sunday morning? I think I recognised the Peugeot or was it a Citroen down the dark road. Did you get much, as I Me & Cesar didn't get anything.

I swan there last night, no vis, hengisbury head-cheers. I had thought about going there, out on the bar?

Ehhh, sorry about that quick reply, Hi Wood, thanks for the advice. I swam at mudeford last night, no vis at all, so probably have to keep an eye on it there. Keen to explore Hengisbury head though, do you head out on the bar? cheers macs

Yes, it was me. I saw funny red and green lamps on SMBs and if I knew who was towing them I would come to say Hello. That night I got 4 Bass, 1 Mullet, 2 soles, 1 lobster and 2 plaice.
When this season started all my old suits went into the bin - they got worn up. Obtained new 3,5mm Tecnica, 5mm Tecnica and 7mm Scorfano. And the Scorfano is the best made suit I ever owned.

Unfortunately we got in too late as the tide was on the way out & it was a Super Moon, the tide was the lowest I have ever seen it there, you could probably walk to the end of the rocks; plus you had hoovered up all the decent fish ;o)
Cesar saw a massive trout, but obviously left it.

Hi Guys any vis over at Studland? - Looking at my first dip this year with a speargun tonight, having a baby and 5 hrs away at a time spearfishing didn't get past the missus until tonight...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - just hoping these Easterlies haven't blown out my nearest spots!

Cheers

Tunny

Vis is very good from Dancing Ledge to Mupe Rocks. At least it was yesterday.
Today me and my buddy will try the east side of St. Albans Head directly after low water. Newer did it before. Always went there on high water.
Karl, Trash, Will, Hubert and me had funny time yesterday along west side of St. Albans.
Haven't seen any decent fish but huge shoals of small Pollack - I thing the reason is becouse of bad timing.
Later, me and Hubert sailed towards Mupe Rocks to pick up some scallops.

Thanks Paul, went in at 8 for 1 & 1/2 hrs missed a couple and bagged a 2 & 1/2lb Bass. Rusty after not going in for so long... Vis was 2-3m and milky.

It was stupid idea going after LW. We spent over 5 hrs in the water and only one 1, 75kg Mullet ended on my stringer.
We had to go back to Kimmeridge Bay after 8pm because were not sure how long the gate would be kept open. Eactly when first fish was spotred.

when i went at highcliffe, just below the caravan park there was basically nothing there and at the bottom just a soup of algae. im not sure there is a reef there maybe some rough ground.

I had a valuable lesson this morning. Shot a bass of about 4lbs. Put the knife in its head and all movement had stopped. Took it off the spear for it to suddenly come to life and shoot off. I was gutted. Searched every where for it but could not find it. I know I should have put it on the stringer first before removing the spear!
Finished with a good mullet. Well good for me. And hey I have learnt the Portland pose.

Having no luck at all with my usual spot at the moment and was wondering if anyones got any good advice on finding a new place around the dorset area that's not normally overflown with beachgoers at this time of year?

Hi peeps,

We are over at West Bay for a week in August and son mumber one (first season spearo) and I will be bringing the spearing gear hoping we may get wet. Not asking for any hotspots but can anyone poitn us for an enjoyable and safe dive nearby and where to avoid at all costs on safety (if there are any).

Thanks in advance

Been a bit quiet on here for people asking genuine questions, come on locals pipe up...
