Dubai Freediving Range Rover comp - DATE CHANGE

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
I have heard rumors about new discipline being introduced at this competition.
I understand tests were already done. Something called 'Anchor', but unfortunately I do not have any more details. :t

Ok timo kinnunen, alexei molchanov and nadim (last years winner) have arrived. Waiting for tom sietas. Peter Boivie has not yet arrived but he isd on the list. More later... Will take phoitos and upload tonight

So what do we have here:
- Nadim, guy that knows this discipline and can do 4 min spearfish dives.
- Timo K from Finland known high performer having done 7.45 in comp. Ranked 3rd in the world.
- Tom Sietas from Germany one of the three 10 minute guys in the world. Can hold his breath in stressfull situations in front of TV cameras.
- Alexey Molchanov from Russia. A happy go lucky breathholder who seems untouched by stress. But in this group with a 51st ranking and a 6.10 breathhold not good enough.
- Peter Boivie, swedish national record holder and bronze medal in last STA championship with a 7.10 breathhold time. Having held his breath in a fruitbowl on stage 100´s of times. Ranked 5th in the world.

And 200 additional athletes and the biggest prize in freediving history and no doping test. A delayed somewhat confused organisation. This beats and Blaine stunt - this is really interesting.

Comp delayed til 1400, tom is now here, peter boivie, timo, and alexei
Locals are a little perturbed with the international strength turning up hehe
He weather is great, a little windy, everyone is relaxed and smiling.

Seb its Nadim not Nessim.

DB user Mowgli is also entering, and he has been training with tom for a week.

Rescue police are here and are currently being briefed.

Reactions: trux
Tom just asked if it is OK to blackout.
Answer was apparantly: "Yes as long as you have your hand on the rope".

There will be no countdowns.

Second hand information.

Sebastian

PS The organization, I guess, are getting questions they are not use to get.

Great, great, sound great! What a suspense! Thanks for keeping us up-to-date.

BTW, Seb, who is the third 10 minutes guy? I know about Sietas and Mifsud, but cannot remember the third guy.
