You can buy Picasso, Imersion, Sporasub, etc etc at Al Samak in Gusais. His shop specialises in spearfishing and it's at the Al Twar Centre, Al Nahda Road. The guy's name is Ray or Ali.

Island_Sands you are right.. i get my stuff from there 2, and if you go to Go Sport in iben batoota or uptown mirdif soon, you'll find stuff also..

guys,,, listen to this... on Thursday morning.. a police officer stoped me.. and i had my spearguns in the back seat.. i thought i made something wrong on the road... i stoped and he came to me.. and he goes" goodmorning Mr.Spero" he thought i'm an English or something...lol.. so i replied back in arabic.. and he started asking me about fishing and where do i go and stuff like that.. after 15min of talking he said.. " oh by the way.. there is nothing wrong.. i just saw your separ guns in your car and i felt like talking to you"

he told me they go to AbuDahbi !!! and there is one place where it is alowed... one island close to Rowais... anyone knows about it?

i heard of Ruwais , but i know that in AD stricktly no spearfishing is allowed.

He said you can find big hamour just 5m.. and oh yah.. there are caravans there for 75AED a night !!! not a fancy thing but who cares .. and there are hotels also..

But thank god i been spearing here for ever and never had any problems... i guess its just a matter of time. I think theyre sort of closing one eye on us.

I was told that its totally ok to spear in ajman and um al quwain and all that side.. i met a guy that has a shop there, he said he doesnt hide the guns.. theyre just laying on the deck!

you are right.. it is ok to spear in Ajman and Um Al Quin... but i wish i had a boat... i know my boss go there ... and he knows the places.. but still you would need a boat..

guys why don't we start a club or an association instade of doing what are doing in doubt ??

Hey guys,

Sorry to hop in without any introductions! Read this thread with great interest, as I am a spearo and surfer from Dorset in the UK, and I'm coming out to Dubai on the 17th December for 2 weeks.

The prospect of spearing some decent sized fish in some warm, and relatively clear water has sent me absolutely spinning, and I was wondering if any of you guys fancied showing a pasty snow white pale Englishman a few spots whilst I'm over? Failing that do you guys know if there are any companies that run trips, like boat trips out to good spots?

I snorkelled there last time I was over and the viz was lovely! well compared to here anyway - lucky to get 3 metres!

Also if any of you surf...I have boards over there, so ready to rumble!
