Dubai Spear Fishing

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Well you just suggested a great idea. What if I walk around in Siena (not Arezzo of course) screaming "my name is Billo". Would that attract joung ladies?

I spearfish quite a bit in Oman..

We are a congregation of 4 friends.. They all scuba.. but not me.. They're converting.. slowly, but surely..

Oman has some nice spots, with plenty of sharks.. Some of them are so big, I have to dig into my tools bag for an extra set of balls..

In case the authorities get me before the sharks do, the extra set of balls can be gifted for a bit of grazing..

No one has posted on this wall for almost 2 years.. and I hear my keyboard clicks, echoing..

Okay, obviously new, to not only the forum, but also to spearfishing..Having done rod fishing, sailing and kayaking all my life, it will be only natural to try out another fun thing in the beautiful blue. So if you see two abnormally creatures lingering down the Dubai beaches this weekend, carrying shiny gear and absolutley no clues, it will be me and my mate trying to have a crack at it....Just posting a warning here, and laughter will be tolerated...For now! :t

No , don't think so...we are debating to take one of your freediving courses...so who knows...and I quess the laughter has to wait a while, becuase the weather is not really Dubai-an at the moment ....

BTW I'm getting another Ed's profile whilst clicking on mine...Bug?

How are you surviving the sandstorm today???
We cncelled diving, and I rwally wish I was a camel today - the sand gets in everywhere as well rofl
Will check out your profile tonight when on my puter :)

is the shamal over yet? it would sooooo suck to get skunked for my one trip to nicer waters....:(

it seems like it..and the way to pass the time during the sandstorm is off course making a nice long walk on the beach, no sand there because of the inland wind..ah well, hopefully next weekend it will be better...keep you lot posted!

last time i went to Oman, from Dibba side, they had a check point... did they inspect your car??
last month my friend was there.. and when he came out of the water the police was on the beache waiting for him. :S

I passed by that check point around 8 times in 24 hours.. A smile and having your all 4 windows rolled down, especially the back windows, usually does the trick.. Besides, the check points are usually dependant on the UAE/ Oman bilateral relations.. When they feel they wish to establish territorial dominance, they activate their check points..

Hi Dubai spearos,
I am a spearo in Sydney coming to Dubai Oct 3-7.
I am always keen to spear in new locations with new people.
Currently debating on bringing the dive gear and guns to Dubai.
If the spearing isn't that great I won't bother, but if there are any locals heading out on a boat who think it's worth while and willing to take a guest, I would love to try it.

Sorry for the late reply. I just saw your post.

I'm going out this weekend and you're welcome to join, if you'll still be in the country.

PM me..

Jewan, have you find people to take you around spearfishing in Dubai? Are you still in Dubai? Are you prepared to take some-one else around with plenty of experience in spearfishing, but new in UAE?
