F.O.M./F.O.Y. discussion thread for 2011

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
Cheers for that, should they be weight before or after gutting. Will weight this one before I cook it. Seen bigger ones but not got my aim just right yet as it was only my second outing with the gun.

I'm no expert, but I think most fish, and especially mullet, should be gutted soon after being killed to preserve the taste of the fish. So if you want a fom entry then I suggest either take scales with you, or accept a slight reduction in weight.

can we all get over the tuna, it was a fluke!!!! catch another and i will be impressed.

In your humble experience?
How is the bass you have there on that fin any more or less a fluke with a dose of aspetto, conditions, time of year and the use of powered spear?
Out of all the comments I've had and read, yours would have to be one of the rudest and most condescending.
Pity its from a fellow DB spearo.:hmm

i liked the comment cos i thought it was a bit toungue in cheeck... wasnt it?
then again.. is yours toungue in cheek brett?
have i just missed the boat again... im confused :)

No offence ment!! but really man i congradulated you at the time, it just seems to be going on and on its a great fish well done but how many times do you want patting on the back?

i agree without doubt the finest fish ever caught!! think we should all pack it in now, cant beat that, untill someone stumbles across a bigger one aspeto!l lol the only reason its gone down in spearo history is cos its a freak catch, show some humility get off your high horse and catch another!!!!! i know i aint on my own in my thinking once again well done but get over it! and no not jelouse just realistic!!!!!

That BF may be a freak in Brett's corner of the world...
but just hitting the zig zagging blue rocket and landing it with out a tear out is the skill of the hunter. This event inspires us all that have hunted and taken these fine fish, my self included.

Have a safe and productive weekend spero's all.:friday

All the best, Don Paul

C'mon Spud, the main protagonist is you while YOU keep banging on about it. Maybe you should get over it, Brett is only replying to your antagonistic posts.
Fair enough there was all the hype at the start & I am sure he will be dining out on that one for a while, that's only fair. IMO he is entitled to it & showing humility.

Anyway, that's my take, let's not start something and miss-interpret what has been said.

I agree totally highlander, but i am allowed my say which i have HAD and will stand by.

crazy wind once again i am not jelous, of course i would have pulled the trigger any spearo would have read back i have shown him no disrespect.

Brett once again nice fish if this aint good enough for you PM me this is all getting petty.

peace

Spudguncat. I do not know you from a bar of soap and you do not know me. You have been running a commentary here which is antagonistic.

No offence ment!! but really man i congradulated you at the time, it just seems to be going on and on its a great fish well done but how many times do you want patting on the back?

I have not asked for any patting on my back? :hmm
Members quotes and comments are their own..not mine.

Again, many thanks for your well founded, expert opinion on the merits of the catch, spearo history, and especially on my humility.:hmm
Intelligent response is not the riding of the proverbial high horse.
If I 'get' what your point here is, I was not aware that I had been all over the forum demanding tins of tuna kudos?:hmm
A lot of us have been on this forum for many years as friends meeting face to face for spearing. Not one of those friends would tap away on the keyboard demanding anybody "get over it" or "pack it in now"...
If the subject is brought up at times then you will need to contact that member and ask him to remove their tuna commentary as it seems to wind you up out of your realistic realm.

Good luck for the the rest of the year hunting.

Reading some of you're posts, I actually thought you were around 17, but having seen your pic from the Cisco Kid on another thread, I was obvioulsy very mistaken.

Heaven forbid, but even my old friend Mr Wind has a point, however he put across in the usual 'moderate' manner. Gets very animated does our Mr Wind.
