Just finished reading the Guernsey holiday thread. Glad everyone had such a great time. I follow all the channel island and south coast UK threads as conditions there are similar to here. Its good to see people I've been reading of and from. Excellent photos, food looks delicious.

The food was 5 star, those Guernsey boys and girls know their way around the kitchen!! Rocquette cider comes highly recommended too, I only ever managed 2 in one sitting though.

3 hour dive, 1 mile walk and 1 mile swim. 5lb bass and 2lb trigger. Phew!

But Rodney was Dave ( according to Trigger!) - not that I ever watched it.:)

Nowwwwwww I get it-Magger's reference was prompted by the trigger fish!
Brilliant Sarnian! Did you work all that out by yourself or is Mandy there too?
Anyway you've solved the mystery, completed the circle and done a good night's work!
So is Trigger still married to Rodney ....or is it just me that's got senile?

It was a crime against humanity to have to observe the first glorious day of summer from my desk and all capitalists should be punished for introducing work. However I managed to sneak out just after four and get wet.

West coast - reasonable viz (some plankton), warm water(casio broken so no temp) 2 ½ hours after low with tide rising fast.

Lots of mullet and wrasse about the first encountered within meters of entering the water. I only saw two adrenaline inducing bass (one a real big daddy) which saw me at the same time as I did him and sped off into the weed. The other bass at 5 meter depth in the weed but he pulled a Houdini and disappeared. I played with a couple of wrasse who were as curious as usual. The wind picked up and beyond the headland bay the water was very choppy. I searched the sand on the way back but only found some small sandfish and crab remnants. The current was quite strong at times and it was a hard swim in places.

The long layoff has definitely impacted on my bottom time and I experienced some earache even after equalizing on depths over 5 meters. I definitely prefer low tide solo diving when you can immerse yourself in the weed in a quest to surprise the ever wary bass.

I am pleased that you all had a great time with the UK boys who I would dearly have liked to have met. I wanted to pop in on Sunday but had prior family commitments.

3 hours drive in Guernsey? Did you do a few laps?;) Nice bass. (Mind you, that 22lb bass caught off Guernsey, on the Bass website is amazing -- makes the 41cm fish next to it look tiny.)

Was hoping to spear a lot this week but have instead been doubled-over with stomach & headaches (a typical holiday!). Frustrating as the weather has very good these last 2 days. Feeling considerably better now -- so maybe get some in yet!)

if any 1 is going spearfishing any time soon u should go of peti bot and stick to the coast on the right and around to the next cove at the moment there is more bass than u can shake a stick at !! Dont really know why?

OK, the marital unit is away with female offspring units from tomorrow 10am until Tuesday. So bring on the diving!

I want to make up for a serious lack of diving on my part.

The goal is to dive Th, Fri evenings, and then two, epic, day adventure trips Sat and Sun. Will probably have to clean the house for my girls' arrival on Monday night.

So, given my boat is still out of the water, anyone have any ideas for some great diving on Sat & Sun? I would even consider ferry to Herm or Sark on Sunday or a drift to Alderney and fly back. Just joking. About Alderney.

So come on guys, woud love to dive with you this weekend. Drop me a note on here or PM me.

g.

See you in the sea!

I may be in Saturday afternoon for the dropping tide for a few hours, have to pick up the nipper about 4.30pm from L'Eree so will go west somewhere but I normally go alone so I don't shoot anyone, got a rather itchy del-boy finger.
